great post, great find, these stories gives me great hope in finding anything that valuable.Every target could be the one ,thats what makes this the best hobby out there. SWINGAWAY.

Now that is what I call persistent. 20 years of fun and still new excitement.

Awesome find, much inspiration

Most excellent! Congrats.

I am absolutely convinced I will find one myself on my very next hunt!

Is that sarcasm I sense, cause this account seems very believable to me, especially compared to a couple of the other gold coin stories on here.

Thats my goal, I have a old log house built in the 1700's that still has remains and a 1800's house foundation I have been searching, lots of junk but no coins yet. I know there are some there. Your find got me fired up to try harder. Great Find,

Very nice

Thanks Hamid

Been a LONG time since I found that coin - don't even live in that town anymore...

WOW! Do I really have to wait 20 years for a cool fine. Please tell me in that 20 years you found some cool SILVER coins or OLD COINS besides this one. I need hope my friend.

My 1st "true" gold coin find in 20+ yrs of metal detecting!!

I went back to the "Curb side find- Georgian revival house" this eve. for about 45 minutes (couldn't make it last night) and after hunting the front area again with little to show for it, decided to try the side of the house where an old small brick walk leads to a back side door of the house.

I was walking/swinging the coil, and after about 3/4ths of the way to the door, I got a solid mid-level tone- strong in the gold/nickel area of my GTI 2500,

dug down about 4 or 5 inches and I couldn't believe my eyes!!

I about had a heart attack rgt then and there!

You can see the green corrosion on it from being in the ground for so long, and it's not more than a VF/XF grade at best BUT, "it's a gold coin just the same"!!

I'm so fired up that I wanna go back and hunt all night but thought I'd run home and post this 1st! ;D

That's an Awesome find! But green corrosion? Its gold not copper. I've never pulled gold out of the ground with green on it. I don't much about coins, does it have copper in it?

A beautiful find. Hard work pays off. Thank you for sharing. I’m motivated.
