Cumberland Gap is where Daniel Boone started bringing settlers into Kentucky and Tennessee, it was also highly contested during the civil war, changed hands many times.

Back on your first pic, I noticed what looks like an owl tree along the top.
Great site! It's giving me goosebumps. :) Picture quality is improving...keep up the good work!

Nwater, this sure looks to me like a corner marker to me, if its where you can drive or use google earth and check the distance, direction, E/W/S/N/,distance to the next marker of this size will be 2'5 miles or a league, Should be 187.5 feet to the next knee high marker.

Hi, and you're welcome!
It's in your very first pic back at the beginning of your thread.

Hey miboje first pic post 173 there is another tree back right side

Whatever that creature is ( I think camel) it's heart is clear and clearly positioned.
Multiple stones plastered together have held up well through the years.

The head is a little abstract, so not sure what it is.

Some small signs scattered and moss covered, so hard to tell.

The rocks that look like a stack of rocks plastered together....is that a bunch of rocks stuck to the underside of an uprooted tree stump?
What is in the background that looks like a pointer rock sticking out of the ground on the left?
Is that a heart on the creature's side, or is it a triangle?
I think the creature lying down looks like a camel body with a smooshed pig's nose. My daughter thinks it's a camel, but doesn't know about the face.
There's too much lichen and moss. There could be something carved on the diamond shape, but you need a sharp close-up pic in winter to see it. It's been said that we don't need to pay attention to the small carvings on the rocks, but I find them fascinating.
Does your phone's camera have a pixel setting that can be increased?
