Forest Fenn and his treasure start on Canyon road near art gallery.

Everyone reads the poem and looks on maps for the clues but what if we didnt need maps just yet. What if all we need is the poem to find the location. Forrest said the person who finds it will analyze and read the poem over and over. He will walk with confidence to the chest. With thousands of possible warm waters and home of browns in the Rockies how are we walking anywhere with confidence?

Read the poem with a different mindset. The clues are in the poem.

As I have gone alone in there
and with my treasures bold
I can keep my secret where
and hint of riches new and old

where did Fenn go alone other than the location? Where is the secret? Why are treasures bold? What is the hint to riches new and old?

As I have gone alone in there ~ where?

No insult intended Msc777, but you sound like you are stuck on what you BELIEVE to be an important first clue. And you BELIEVE you have the answer to the important first clue? Listem close Msc777 AND LISTEN GOOD, if you have interpreted the first clue correctly you will KNOW IT, NOT JUST BELIEVE IT. And that will be because all the remaining clues will fall like dominoes. The fact that you are stuck where you are after 3 years says to me that you are on a slow train to nowhere. Drop me a line with a weather report when you get to nowhere.

Maybe I am not making myself clear I know the answer to my questions at least what I believe are the answers. I am trying to provoke some discussion on these questions from you all if you want to discuss. Isnt that what this forum is all about?

As I have gone alone in there

This describes FF writing the poem, he is alone when he goes into the poem.

and with my treasures bold

now the real interesting question here is why is treasures bold? Is it the treasures in the chest or something else?

Just my two cents. I tend to believe that you can't see the treasure from eye level. I believe you can see the treasure from the starting point as you look down. I think he once said he wished he could be buried there. I think I would like to be buried in a place where I can see a vast amount of beauty and not rocks in a canyon. I would rather see the whole canyon. I once went fishing and caught nothing. I got bored and went on top of a cliff over the water near where I fished. From my vantage point on top I saw several huge fish and an entire car in the water only a few feet from where I was. I could not see any of these things at eye level. Didn't Fenn say people have past it while looking? I don't k ow the answers obviously but it's fun to guess. And maybe you can only see the treasure in the winter depending on water levels or the way the sun comes up. I don't know.

ok if anyone wants to discuss what im talking about send me a pm.

good luck to you all.

You have a good point Applecrack, this part of the poem about Warm Waters, are there any hot springs out there, I don't know the area ? Or Geysers ?
tons in northern New Mexico

I fully agree that it can only be seen by being above it.

Mockingbird

Mockingbird. Just passing on another great children's Rhyme to start the weekend.
Enjoy.

Just for FUN

Let's do this just for fun. Most of you may know about the TOTC official web site managed by Dal "Theman".
Fenn posts comments and pictures there from time to time. Anyway, Fenn posts things on what are called scrapbook pages. During the month of October, 2014, Fenn posted a page about his scoring a touchdown in a high school game. The picture posted is that of a Rawlings football with which Fenn asserts he scored the TD. Also there is a drawing representing a stick figure in profile of Fenn scoring the TD . The left arm of the stick figure cannot be seen in the drawing. To my minds eye, I see Fenn making a disguised comment about the marketing of TOTC book.

The Rawlings football is a metaphore for Irene Rawlings, (the official media contact in the TOTC marketing game), and Fenn took Irene over the goal line in the TOTC marketing game even though Fenn was not fully prepared to do so in the beginning. And Fenn is just bursting with pride over the job he did. Going out at the top of his game, I would say, if I were to say..

I think it's just a football he scored a touchdown with.

Take the blindfold off and then you MAY see beyond the threshold of your own limited knowledge theMarkd. Being that you choose to ignore my take on this chase game, the least you could do is to take the author's advice and think outside ( what appears to be to me), your boxed in way of thinKing.

You may never soar with the eagles, but you might find you you are capable of levitating..

I'm not ignoring it. I happen to disagree with it.

Cunningness

I paraphrase the well known story teller,Charles Dickens.

"I have known a vast quantity of nonsense talked about men out to get the better of you not looking you in the face. Don't trust that conventional idea. Cunningness will stare honesty out of countenance any day in the week, if there is anything to be got by it."

ON THE ELEVENTH HOUR
OF THE ELEVENTH DAY
OF THE ELEVENTH MONTH
WE WILL REMEMBER YOU MY FRIEND

mdc777 Is it the treasures in the chest or something else? Are you tring to say the beauty of nature is the Treasure ?

No it is no the treasures in the chest he is talkin about here. Once you realize where he went "alone" you then understand why "treasures" is bold. It is the same place he is keeping his "secret".

As I have gone ALONE IN THERE
And with my TREASURES BOLD
I can keep my SECRET WHERE
and hint of riches new and old. (riches is another word for what?)

Mdc777, it seems you have it figured out. Why not just tell us what your thinking instead of all the cryptic hints. You seem to want to tell everyone, you keep coming back even after you say ur done. I hope you were smart enough to figure it out and enlighten us all. You can be a hero. Take us to another level and be the leader of the pack.

Fenn's House of Mirrors

Welcome to Fenn's House of Mirrors Mdc777

"Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax, " said the night man,
"We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave! "

You should seriously consider heeding AppleCrack's advise. With a handle like AppleCrack, I suspect
that man has been in deep waters more than once in his life.
Play something other than your One-Eyed Jack card if you can.
