Gopher,
Must have been the lighting that threw me off.

I had to go back to my post to see which 'button' you referred to.
The top picture is a Sterling rope-edged concho pin that I dug up about three weeks ago. I WISH it was gold!

Well done Micheal you're the military king in Canada also the small nickel king as well....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

I hope everyone is enjoying the thread which was the whole purpose to take your minds of the virus thingy.....keep them coming let's see if we can add enough finds to keep it going until we kill the bug.....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

Bill, I gave it to my boss, we managed about 300 houses, so I get to detect them when someone moves out and I fix them up, here's something I dug up, talking about printed plates, I think it's cool, dug the 5 pieces on different days at the same sitelet4.jpg

These were not my finds but a gift.....

Not sure what all of these all are but they are OLD!

I did some oil company security work in Yemen a few years back and one of the Yemeni soldiers I worked with gave me these. Said he found them in the northern area (Marib I believe) in an ancient village. Just laying around. Man I'd like to swing a detector THERE! (Well...not right now...whole civil war and all going on there!)

Bronze rings, guessing horse/camel tack?
Small bronze awls or needles?
numerous hand carved beads, some are bone or shell, others may be amber or something? He put them on the strings.

Very neat thread to while away some hours.

I've posted about this jewelry box hinge before but not sure how many may have seen it.
Ornate cast bronze probably from the 1715 fleet. Very lucky find my first summer of detecting in 2018 and the first thing that I was sure wasn't modern.

It was held to the 1/2" thick wood box (wood not found) with two square-headed nails (only one still attached.) Metal is worn from being used.

I'll post one of my favorites - an 1849 gold dollar. I've seen other gold coins come up since mine that always look nice as when dropped, and always banner worthy and given. My poor one was in gravelly, sandy soil and looks the worse for it. Not banner worthy it seems, but I'm proud of her and she's my only gold coin. I'll never sell her and will never forget the thrill on that first shiny glint that caught my eye. So here she is mates:

caretaker,

Great find.....so you get paid twice once to fix up the house and a 2nd time to find the goodies in the house. People would kill for your job....lol.

Javadroid,

Well done on the gold coin. Not many people pop one of those babies.
