Steve, I picked up some 3M Rubber Splicing Tape @ Lowes yesterday, 3/4" x 22'. Is this pretty close to what you're using? Asked @ TSC and they looked at me like duh? What's it used for?

It's still hard to fathom that these are the same sticks just a week ago that sat on this midden !!! Had them in the Jeep with me today , along with my late BIL's ashes and eye balled a silver chain and pendant ............ Coincidence ??? , Probably , but ...... who's to say .......

Mac

P.S. BIL 's Ashes fit into a small pill bottle , water proof , He is the one who got me into metal detecting so I try to honor him by taking him with me .......

Here is another idea Larson...to prevent my stick(I'm trying to avoid "that's what she said" haha) from loosing its length, I got some of this stuff called Plastidip from Lowes. Its used to coat tool handles and stuff. I'm dipping the tip of it about 2 inches high to make it more durable! I've used it on other things too. It works really well! You could even use it on the handle too but I like the wood feel...haha I'm prob gonna catch a lot for this comment!

just a tip, coins will put metal marks on your arrowheads.
mite be best to use the plastidip on the tip.

Yeah that's what I was saying..I don't want my tip broken away so I dipped it in it works great!

Nothing fancy just perfect.I have went through a few flippers now! What works for me is a garage sale ski pole.just cut round plastic ring off bottom.usually made of aluminum or bamboo.

I find those real nice, too. have a loop on em, so you dont have to hold em, and always have a good grip. have used old golf clubs with the end off, also! and never wear out.

Larson you rock on the flippin sticks. I have an old ski pole light as a feather that I have had I know for over 10 years. It has flipped snakes swatted wasp kept me glued to the side of cliffs. I saw it fly out of my boat one time had to go about 20 miles to turn around and go get it. But I got it. Crazy cause I have stacks of them but that one is special. Like the metal tip that makes a soft clink on rock. You make some nice uns though.
