here is my wore out cedar stick and a new one i just made out of alder

A friend made the Mrs. and I these 2 walking sticks. A horseshoe crab on hers, an owl on mine. Purple wampum inset at top. In third photo the friend who made these shows the purple wampum in his stick....

wow charl those are way way cool

you know it gives me an idea for some sticks i could try to make from diamond willow........
..it is prolific along the banks of the missouri river and is a very hard type of wood....plus neat looking if carved right

Thank you Steve, it has arrived in great shape. It is a beautiful piece of work. I love the flaming Maple wood. It turned out great.!!

And what a nice little scraper you broke it in with.
 

Well, now, after all that rain, you will have to put that to good use! And LOTS of it. At least till the ground gets white and hard.
 

thank you so much mr larson,the stick is just dandy,i really like it alot.my dad who lives next door to me said they brought it saturday.they will not come in my yard because of my dog who just pretends to be mean,hes just a big baby but a real good actor when it comes to mailmen and ups people.im going to take a picture when i find my camera and show everyone,you are a great spirit brother thank you so much.
