UPDATE 19.2.2014

Road keep giving silvers (1 more/25 total ):)
Today plan was to chek another path in same forest, but to get on that path i needed to go over my dear:) silver road, and i say to myself if there is 24 silvers, there must be atleast one more :D and there was 1 more ! :D... after some time hunting nothing shows up so i moved on secund path as the plan was.

On secund path i found 1938 prety nice coin, i see that one first time so for moment i thought its gold one, unfortunatly its not but still nice one, atleast for me :). thanks for watch and read! :) (photo on page 6)
yeah btw, i manage to get some ID on some of those silvers: 7 are sultan Suleyman I “the Magnificent” (reign 30 Sep, 1520 – 7 Sep, 1566) mint in (Novaberde, Kayseriye, Novar, Sidrekapsi, Kratova) 1 is Sultan Selim I "the Grim" (reign 1512–1520)

sounds resonable to me :), yeah btw i found some horseshoe near, and only that shoe seems to me that can be same time as coins, nothing else that i found have no conection with coins :O, so i wondering that horseshoe can it be so old as coins, i make it complicated ... :) my question is, when horses start to gets horseshoes?

I'm quoting another site:

'While the inventors of the first nailed shoe may always remain a mystery, horseshoeing became a mainstream practice in Europe around 1000 AD. Cast from bronze,'

Congrats on your hammered finds! :hello2::hello2::hello2:

Very interesting possibility of a hoard or at least a nice purse drop of coins! Good Luck to you to find more!

We need a poll... I say there is more! Walking slow and strings to mark rows. If it's a lost bag make sure to get them all! You say road. Is there a crossroad or branch?

Hello :hello:

It looks like you are on to a fantastic find, and perhaps like others have said a Hoard. The trees in all likely hood probably were not there, when these were buried or lost, they don't look that old in one of your pictures you posted... Great find :icon_thumleft:

yeah there is crossroad, around 200 meters further on the path

It was quite common to have paths through swamps, this way you could not be ambushed from the sides, just a case of finding the course of the footpath....keep looking there could be more, and good luck.

Congratulations! You have found yourself something special there and I have a feeling a lot more could be in the ground. A guy here in Maine U.S. Was dragging logs out of the forest with horses and uncovered over 40 silver coins (all from the 1600s) when the logs had dug themselves into the soft soil. This happened in 1820. Keep at it and if these coins are confined to a small area I would consider digging some deep holes. Especially being that it's in the forest. I hope you find a huge hoard of coins! Abe

Awesome.
These hammered coins must be listed somewhere. Any I.D's yet?

well they are probably from period of Bayezid II (December 3, 1447 – May 26, 1512), Mehmed II (30 March 1432 – 3 May 1481) or Suleiman the Magnificent (6 November 1494 – 7 September 1566) as i can say as nonexpert :dontknow:

I think we should all consider this banner worthy?

He borrows an Ace 250 & on his 4th ever hunt he discovers a 16th C solid silver coin. Now he has 20 which a detectorist who has done 20 years would love to find. There will be more to come & its unlikely he will ever have the same luck again.

BANNER!!!

I'm sure you will get plenty more good finds & I hope you post them. But mark my words, in 10 years time (if you are still detecting), you will look back on this knowing it was an even greater find than you first thought.
My Wish List No.1 is Hoard. I would be happy with a bronze one, silver or gold is too much to hope for.
Although yours still might not be technically a hoard (not sure yet), as it maybe a purse loss, I would still be over the moon with that many early hammereds!
