To my knowledge, tyhis is the first plate recovered that has the name of the former owner engraved on it...

To me, this puts this plate at the top of the heap...

We now know who the owner was and probably research to see if he survived the CW or not...

This is a banner find.

That's the maker's mark not the soldier's name...nice find!!!

Gotta Love It  Congrat's!!!

Nice job! Makes it all the better when your son can share in the excitement. I love father/son teams. My own son (30 years old) was with me yesterday to just do a very short hunt. I think he's hooked . . . we didn't find anything but junk, but he got that glassy look in his eyes as we were searching and said, "I know what I want for Christmas." :laughing7:

BTW, was than an MXT you were hunting with?

I stand corrected

Awesome! That's a fantastic day, by any standards. Back when digging was "good" around here, I found a total of 5 breast plates, but it's been so long ago that I would do a BIG happy dance to find another.

I Know that felt good! keep at it. I hunted 16 years before i found my first plate, and found my second plate 3 days later in the same area. Good Luck!!

KUDOS Paul! You have helped so many of us out with your knowledge I am glad that you got your first breast Plate. You deserve it!

I bet your boy was tickled at seeing his dad dig a nice relic! :notworthy:

Congrats on the plate. I found my first and second this past December so I know how you must have felt. Way to go!
