This was found by my friend not long ago on a permission we are fortunate to share that was the site of a Roman settlement from the 1st century here in Lancashire England.
The moment he showed it me my jaw dropped and I just drooled out "Roman". To which he concurred.
This is an area we have both found Roman coins and relics. And so as you can imagine he was absolutely thrilled with this.
My friend contacted the Lancashire Finds liason officer, went and met him to hand the relic over for analysis, recording etc.
"So what's he reckon" was my first question.
"He says he's not sure it's Roman" answers my friend.
Well if that's not Roman then I'm at a loss as to what it is.
What do you reckon folks?
