Hit a field today that has produced Spanish reales and early US coppers, today I didn't find any coins but I did recover a early wax letter seal and a few buttons and lead. I'm pretty sure this site is probably my oldest .

Great stuff. Love that you made a wax impression too. They would look great displayed next to each other.

Neat, just out of curiosity where was this found, I found a coin type item that I can't figure out and it looks a lot like this material(lead?), waiting on heritage to tell me more but it's been grueling.

Nevermind I see above that it was found in Illinois.
It's made out of brass! And yes Illinois found not to far from the confluence of the Upper Mississippi and Illinois rivers

This might help! I found it in my neighbors yard the other day. I know that the royal british army used lions alot. Just an idea.

Very nice clean-up on the button. Has it been ID'd?

Royal Army payroll button. Bottom banner inscription reads "fide et fiducia". Check my page for the actual post. And yes it cleaned up incredibly well. Practically came out of only six inches of dirt just like that.

Prestzel lions forever! :p
