Hit a field today that has produced Spanish reales and early US coppers, today I didn't find any coins but I did recover a early wax letter seal and a few buttons and lead. I'm pretty sure this site is probably my oldest .

Indeed it be wonderful to identify your seal. I'm looking into it a little and came across this story about a 10 yr old boy finding an 800 yr old seal that sold for over $5000. Made me think identifying yours could improve its historical and monetary value for sure.

Taht seal sure made up for the lack of coins on this hunt. Congratulations.

I can see 2 lions on each side of the crown and the initials PHS
Thanks for pointing out what you are seeing in hand.
I see the PHS initials, but these tired eyes were seeing either an angry honeybee grabbing a ball of pollen or a closeup of a kangaroo's face (with the nose front and center). :icon_scratch: I'm sure it's much more regal than either of those.

Please melt some wax and press the seal so we can see what it looks like. Those things are so cool! And envelopes with glue on them did away with about 3,000 yrs of seal use!

Can't find anything on the possible meaning of PHS, but seeing what's in the center could it be the Pretzel Haritage Society

Interesting Sandog. You may have found the path that solves it. I thought I was looking at a pretzel. Just Google Bakers guild coat of arms and you'll see a few images very much like this seal.
Wow I never thought that someone would ever figure this out! Now I know what the crest may mean
