Congratulations for a rare rare find.

Thanks for all the commits guys. I'm going today to get it looked at by someone that has been dealing in CW relics for several years. He's not an expert but he can let me know the proper way to clean it and make sure it's Genuine. I will post later what he says. HH

Well I carried the buckle to the guy to look at it, he's opinion was its the real deal. He said the color and texture was right. He even offered to buy it. But I told him I was keeping it. One day I will pass this down to my son and hope he has as much interest in history as I do. It truly is my best find so far. I appreciate all the the positive posts. HH everyone...

Sounds good Iukams.. Please after you clean this buckle edit your first post on here and add a picture of it cleaned so you can get more banner votes, I already voted for a banner for you once its cleaned! I really want to see that C.S.A. glowing brightly! Awesome job and go back and hit that spot again you never know you could have a double C.S.A buckle waiting for you! 8-)

I'm not planning on cleaning it. I'm just gonna put it away the way it is along with a note explaining when and where it was found. Sorry...

First, let me congratulate you on a magnificent find. And, secondly, while I may be in the minority, I applaud you for deciding not to clean it.

SUPER choice....."cleaning",and these type of relics makes me cringe....I have seen too many RUINED!!!!

very rare find- congrats!!! I'm new to treasure hunting and I want to learn so the ? is- what is "cleaning" acceptable? Would washing with soapy h2o be ok? What about washing in a baking soda and h2o solution to neautrilize corrosion. I'm just not sure what is acceptable-yelnif...

Personally no,not even distilled water.......regardless what anybody tells you, unless you know how your soil forms patina, and how it reacts to water, dont do it...it will flake the patina off

Thank you guys n gals for all the positive commits and the banner votes.
