A fellow Tnet member and I put in about 2 hours Labor Day morning and dug a first for me. Went back to the site where I found the 1852 gold dollar and 1859 seated half dollar. This site has a lot of trash in the top layers but as we get it out there are tons of good targets underneath. We are still focused on the same 30'x30' patch for the past few outings. As it has become a pattern I removed trash from the plug, rechecked the plug and get another signal. This is my first trime 1852 3 cent. Repeat process and with in 2ft I get a civil war eagle button. We think the button is off a kepi hat, my friend dug a regiment number and another button within feet apart at our last hunt. We decided to do some gold prospecting before I had to go and that resulted in a surprise. I literally gold panned my first complete Quartz Indian point ( arrow head). I don't come across these that often, usually broke in the corn fields. Thanks GL&HH

Dfallis, the trime is one beauty of a specimen! Congrats on all of your cool finds, but I'm especially enamored with the trime as my "trime" holder is...currently still empty. Congrats..Ddf.

Whew...that's a new coin on me. Congrats! Now I want to find one! :icon_thumright:

Congrats!!! Still looking:)

Thanks fellas. I'm sure theres one out there for yall. Location/ research is everything. This site is between a 1700s mill and early1800s village.

Nice 3 center. I've only dug two silver ones in 30 years of detecting !

Nice coin. I have only found two since I started years and years and years ago. One this year and one back about 1985 or so. They were about 20 miles apart. Think you should get a backhoe and have at it!

Thanks Smokey. Its seems that way, bring in the big guns and skim the trash layer. I saw your 1853 trime from this year. Its in great condition considering...

Dang sweet finds! Love that three cent!

Congrats on getting the Three Cent and the quartz arrowhead, both are real beauties.
In a 30' x 30' area you've recovered some great finds, I think I'd be digging a whole lot more iron out to see what's underneath.

Wow three great keepers!

Thank you pepperj. Yes, we will be removing all the trash/ iron. This 30'x30' area is right at the bottom of a hill. Top of this hill is where the village was. Lower field has springs and the Mill. Were slowing removing all the trash from this one area and the good finds just keep coming. But there is 2 acres to go, the rest isn't as trashy. Were finding all types of old debris, 18th & 19th C. pottery, lantern parts, reeds, horse & ox shoes, square nails. You name it its in this patch.

That my friend is a great day out in the dirt. Great looking 3 center

the Court of Detection has sentenced you to "Trime served"

----got a '52 in 2014, a '53 last year & a '53 last month----trime trimes in trime years :laughing9::happysmiley:------Oh, the joy______________ :occasion18:

HaHa Trime served. Thank you and congrats on your 3 trimes. Such a cool looking coin

Thanks Ahab8. Theres never a dull moment on this site. If your having a bad day detecting then we gold prospect, If that's not producing then we can hit the bottle dump. For a small 2 acre property there is soo much to do. One of my favorite spots of all time.

Big congrats on finding such a tiny coin! Still on my list of to find. The button and point are great too! Way to go!

....With all those layers , are you sure it's not an ONION FIELD !?
Geral job !

No kidding, we keep peeling back the layers. The homeowner is as shocked as we are. 2 gold coins, seated half, 4 largies, 2 trimes, Spanish reale, IHP's, mercs and tokens and much more. The owner has lived there 40 yrs and is a detectorist but never hit the property hard. The trash masked the good stuff and they thought it was worthless. They tried 20+ years ago with not so good equipment.

Absolutely awesome find! Still looking for my first 3-center of any kind after 26 years. Congrats!

An excellent outing.
The 3 cent piece and the arrowhead would have kept me happy for a month.
Congratulations
