James Beverly Ward became a character in the Beale Papers with this statement by the "unknown author".

You just corrected some of the mistakes in this post but in your other post you mentioned about four times that Robert Morriss died at the home of James Beverly Ward. When in fact he died at the home of his niece. His wife however did die at the home of James Beverly Ward.

Would that niece have been Annie Morris Ward who was married to William O Johns who supplied the ADAMS BROS & PAYNES letterhead that James Beverly Ward used to apply for the Beale Papers copyright with only the title of the work?

No, RM died in 1863, at the home of his NIECE... Mrs. David Saunders (or SOMETHING like that).
 

That would be Ansaletta Warwick Saunders. Daughter of Robert Morriss' sister and his sister married the first Mayor of Lynchburg, Va.
 

Well, found info in LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA: The first Two Hundred Years, 1786-1986 by James M. Elson (Chapter Ten - Lynchburg on the Eve of the War Between the States, pg 120-137); "The first of Lynchburg's two authenticated newspaper 'duels' occurred at approximately 8 a.m. on June 6, 1851, when JAMES D. SAUNDERS of BEDFORD came to the town's market place (in the middle of Ninth Street....), looking for editor A.W.C. Terry of the VIRGINIAN (pg. 117-188). They had a DUEL, guns were fired & BOTH were mortally wounded. "A short time before young SAUNDERS died" (June 6, 1851), p. 118. THAT explains why the niece, Mrs. David Saunders (as a WIDOW), was a care-taker for RM on Roslyn Street/Place. :coffee2: Got MORE R & I to do...

Have you looked in the Southern Historical Papers? Robert Morriss was a southern sympathizer. Also Robert Morriss and William Mitchell were both on the plaque of the backers of the building of VA University as was Thomas Jefferson.

It was in program when they build the University of Virginia. Robert Morriss would have had a copy in his library and it may very well be the "KEY" to the codes. I remember someone once said to break the codes you had to place them in matrix box of 99 well there were 99 that had their name on that list. Also there were three things that Thomas Jefferson was noted for one being the DOI and one of the other was the building of UVA.

Monticello is PROBABLY the 3rd thing... ANYWAY! MAY have been Robert MORRIS, who financed the War of Independence.
