Well, I finally found a clovis! The material is red jasper, but there is a small nick near the point.

You must know a nice flint knapper. Thats totally modern work...in last 50 years, not 20k ago. Nice try.

joeb1999:

Please enlighten us as to what you see that allows you to be so sure it is “totally modern work”.

By the way, at this time there are no Clovis sites that date "20k ago".

Nice try?? Opinions are one thing. That's a pretty lousy thing to say to a respected member of the forum.

I take it back. Sorry. Nice find. I am just jealous, and skeptical. hh. -Joe

Joeb, unless you can back that accusation up, which I doubt, you're just trying stir up a pot of drama.

I know what it feels like to b accused of stuff like that ... When u work so hard to find something nice and someone accuses u of fraud it hurts a little !!! In my opinion if someone post a fake or false info they are the ones that have to sleep on it not me ;) that's a nice point thanks for sharing it ;)

''Apology accepted''.

There are a lot of members here on this forum that have some tremendous collections that I will never see myself achieving. The only envy I have is sharing the joy of their hunt. I am envious of some of you who have certain sites (fields) that you can continually return to with much success. I assure you that finding this point was humbling, what else do you want me to say. Every artifact is unique in itself.

Thank You!

well dennis i did not like the comment either but i see that he apologized..................all is good

I DIG IT!...I'd been lookin at that little picture of it on top and never clicked on it, thinking it was somebody's cool find from the east. What a beauty:thumbsup:

You know, with all your travels in the mid west you should have a very good chance of finding one of these paleo points. There have been quite a few Clovis's found in Colorado alone.

Thats one of the nicest clovis points I've ever seen!! Beautiful material! Congrats on the banner. It's certainly worthy of being up there.

gotta say the diggers are great and the find is great
i bet it is worth a little bit but the diggers are not into this fun and interesting sport because of money

I know this is on the banner but it doesn't say it's on the banner. At least it doesn't for me.image.jpg

Is it just me or is it like that for everyone?

(?) You got me! I didn't see it also, but if you zoom in on your inset it shows it.

I don't understand. The other banner posts I am following have the "Banner" listed in the thread title. I don't see that ons your thread.

:notworthy: I again would like to thank those who voted '''Banner'', and to all of you for your kind remarks. Thank You! :notworthy:

old digger keeps showing nothing but class.hats off to ya sir

Absolutely beautiful!!! Great find my friend!! I knew it was banner worthy!!!

Thanks Chris for your support and encouragement! :notworthy: As we talked you mentioned that it had some minute characteristics to a Folsom? Could there be a possibility that this point has transitive characteristics from Clovis to Folsom. Please, anyone else have any input on this hypothesis?
