About 3 years ago I was taking the store deposit to the bank. There wasn't any cars in the parking lot when I got there. As I was getting out of my car I saw what I thought was a couple of dollars. When I went to pick it up I saw A $100.00 bill. It turned out to be 4 $100.00. bills. I took them into the bank and talked to the Teller. She put the money in an envelope. The next day when I went to the bank again, the supervisor gave the money back, saying they didn't want anymore in the bank then what should be there. I told her I would hold on to it for a month. No one ever asked about it.
So yes I will always pick money when I see it.
 

ya it's so bad my wife and I try to beat each other to get to a penny on the ground. A few years ago I was going into a stop and rob to pick up a paper when I saw what I thought was a dollar bill folded up on the ground. I picked it up and stuck it in my shirt pocket without looking at it. A little later at work I was reading the paper during my break when I remembered the money I found. Pulled it out and it was a $100 dollar bill. Lucky me. It went into my savings.
 

one day in my school i was walking to my class in between periods and all of a sudden i look down ant there was a ROLL OF TWIENTIES!! so i pick it up and keep walking acting like nothing happened then out of nowhere a teacher comes out of her room and must of saw me so she calls me over and ask me What i found so i show her then she said "o I'll take that to the office for you" and she takes it out of my hands and walk away. i was so mad i was ready to punch her right in the face, but didn't get in a Little trouble. I'm sure she probably pocketed it
lession learned don't trust teachers
 

Imagine if all you found was kept in a jar and you paid it into your credit card each year...... it would make a big difference..... makes you think.

And yes I do pick up money.... it is another form off treasure hunting ;D

I found a 50 once. yippee!!! Also have gotten at least 15 singles, 3 fives, and a 20. Plus tons of change.

while metal detecting this summer in about two feet of water I spotted something shiny. I was thinking it was something along the lines of tin foil. I ran my detector over it and it didn't give a reading. I don't know why, I guess I was curious,but I reached down and grabbed it. I was very surprised to see it was a 14k white gold bracelet.

once when we were out i didn;t have a md for myself to use I WASEYE HUNTING AND FOUND A18 INCK PIPE WRENCH IT TURNED OUT TO BE BEST FIND OF THE DAY
 

I just thought of another one.
one day at work, on my way to break I noticed a bill. Thinking it was only a dollar I left it. well no one noticed it all day and at the end of the day I picked it up and straightened it out. It was a 20. But wait it gets better, I recognized that bill then I realized it was a 20 I had in my pocket the day before. It must have fallen out when I took my keys out of my pocket to go home. How's that for luck.
 

Great stories, thank you all for posting them! Here's one: This afternoon, I took my car to the local carwash, found 3 pennies and a dime near the vaccum, and when I pulled in the wash stall, found 3 dollars in quarters someone left on top of the control box! Free carwash!! Thanks again to everyone for the great sotries and ideas - keep 'em coming!
 

I've left Quarters in the car wash before for the next guy.
