Of course...who wouldn't pick up free money? I don't care who is looking...

If it's a woman Sometimes

If it's coins or rings Everytime

Well tk it all depends if them eyes are staring back at us :o , otherwise we are constantly loking down surprised we dont run in to things from looking down so much

I was at the grocery store the other day checking out, reaching in my pocket for my money, when I dropped a quarter and it fell right against the checkout counter. Reached down to pick it up and, whammo, five bucks is sitting right next to my quarter! You couldn't see the five bucks unless you bent over and looked like I did because the little toe step recession was hiding it! Being the health conscious young man that I am my purchases were a fozen pizza, a red bull energy drink, and a nestle crunch ice cream bar. After paying and finding that fiver, my net gain out of the store: $.68 Sweet.

My son and I went to the circus a couple of months ago and he just HAD to ride the elephant after the show in the big top (he was using his allowance, so I figured, what the heck, right?). We wandered around for a bit, then went and he got in line to get a ticket and then got in line to ride. He was one of the last ones to ride, just before a rain storm kicked up. We were among the last to head back to the car and, looking down (like I do since I've learned keeping my eyes on the ground finds more stuff than looking all around), I spotted a folded up $5 bill. There was almost no one else around, not that it would have mattered, and I for darn sure picked it up. When I unfolded it, I told my son "HEY! There's a $20 in here!" I did a bit more unfolding and said, very quietly "HEY, there's TWO $20 in here!" Yep, a total of $45 in an almost deserted parking lot, found because my son just "had" to ride the elephant! And yes, I gave him $20 of it and told him he can ride an elephant any time! LOLOL You can darn bet I pick up stuff I spy with my eyes! And will continue to do so.

HH, ya'll!

My mom and grandma have yearly contests to see who can find the most money. They don't detect... it is all from their own two eyes... They each usually find over $100.00.... You could be in a silent arena full of people... and if they saw a penny they would shout: "Oh, a penny, mine!"

My friends dad found an indian head penny a few years ago at the post office just laying on the ground... so don't be afraid to bend over for 'just a penny.' :)

This thread reminds me of the time back in 1947, when my husband and I were first married. It was a few days before payday and we were down to our last $5.00; we were driving down University Ave in St. Paul, and my husband saw what he thought was a dollar bill flutter away and settle by the curb. We drove all the way around the block and back to the curb. I got out and picked up the bill which turned out to be $20.00. What a find!!!! That was back when we could get a week's supply of groceries for less than $10.00. We felt like millionaires.

I went to the grocery store with my 8 year old daughter and she found 2 pennies in different parts of the parking lot. One while walking to the store and one leaving. Whatever she finds goes into her piggy bank.

-- I guess if you're closer to the ground you can see them better. :D

A few yrs ago, I was at Miami Airport. I started to walk into the Gift Shop to get a Mag. There was a long line of people at the cashier as I entered. I happened to look down and saw a folded $20 on the floor. I walked over & put my foot on it, but when I did that it put me about 2 inches from the people in line. They gave me strange looks while I was trying to figure how to pick it up. I finally dropped my keys close to my foot & picked it up. It was actually 3 $20's folded together. Best eye find of my life.

absolutely pick it up!!!! check all vending machines, paper boxes, pay phones when you can find them. anywhere a coin is accepted. we find coins nearly every day. did find a 5 dollar bill at a playground while i was detecting. very good question. garrettfan2 in texas

I saw a $20 bill on the ground just as I was goin out the door at a convenience store a while back....For just a split second I thought about what I should do....oh the conscience ???, Anyway, I just picked it up put it in my pocket and walked away.

I found an engagement ring at an intersection while I was stopped at a light. The ring was laying in the gravel that collects between the two lanes. I parked and picked it up a minute later. It was a bend 14 K., small stone Keeper.

Heck yea I pick up everything from pennies to wads of bills. If someone laughs at me- I laugh right back at them. It is silly not to pick up cash or anything of value on the ground.

Someone did a study a few years back and found that 50% of the people observed will not pick up anything under a dime in value. If something is on the ground appears to be of value, I pick it up, after all pennies make dimes and dimes made dollars.

Better to pick 'em up than have to dig 'em up. I'm always picking up coins. My best "eyeballed" finds were a gold and garnet ring in a parking lot here in the states and a 5 Euro bill after a laser show in Austria.

My girlfriend has eyeballed two coins in her woods when she was growing up (I have hunted those woods for hours and hours with no luck!). The first was an 1820's quarter. The second was a Spanish silver coin, 2 Reales. I wish I had her luck!

Of course,I pick up everything I see. Started early in life. At age 6 a friend and I used to roam an Air Force base (it was safe back then). We brought home everything we found, money, golf balls, shopping cart, dead fish (a large carp), baseballs, you name it. I use a little more discrimination now but if I find something interesting I keep it.

My wife goes by the "Penny-only if heads up" thing. When I'm with her, I let her have her way -- with pennies. If I'm alone, heck yeah I pick it up.
