EASY CHALLENGE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE CHALLENGED

Franklin, in another post you made reference to the possibility that the two shipments were the result of a "military" action. At the time of the two shipments there were experienced military personal in the southwest, these parties and locations also having been visited by the interim Secretary Of War. During this same period there is recorded two shipments of wealth having been sent back east, one in the spring of 1819 and one in the spring of 1821, the first shipment equaling roughly 1/2 million dollars, the second amount is not known. Coincidentally, these same two shipments coincide perfectly with the near perfect chronological order I've posted many times in these forums.

In several other post you have often referenced the ability of the French to move about more freely in the west, this even allowing them to move in and out of places like Santa Fe and other Spanish held regions. Ironically, the two above transfers in question also held strong French influences and interest.

After his stay on location, when this Interim Secretary of War departed back to the east he also had with him the "military" leader of one of the occupying factions to who he had paid this secret visit.

In 1829 a letter of inquiry is sent from "Richmond Virginia" from one of these involved parties in those southwest occupations regarding the promised "payments for services rendered."

So with all of this in mind why do you still refuse the possibility that the two transfers in question held French influence and that they may have just happened in the very military type light that you suggest?

PS: And, very coincidentally, Mexico Sherman, John Sherman's uncle, can be placed along side these occupying factions in the southwest and most recently, a Thomas Beale can be found aboard one of the vessels that transported these people.

Are we discussing George Graham as acting Sec of War and William Patterson's Canton Co ship, TORPEDO, captained by Mathew "Mexico" Sherman, are you leading us back to Elizabeth Patterson which brings us to a Bonaparte/ French connexion?

A) I'll wait on Franklin's reply.
B) Have found Thomas Beale through all of those other family branches yet?

The Republic of West Florida was short lived in 1810, and yes the Bonnie Blue Flag was hoisted.
President Madison quickly put an end to that .
Proclamation?Occupation of West Florida (October 27, 1810)?Miller Center
Republic of West Florida - Forgotten Nation of the South
It was President Monroe than sent Andrew Jackson to Florida several years later, after the War of 1812, to stop two British citizens from arming the Seminoles. This led to the First Seminole War and the Adams-Onis Treaty.
P.S. Capt George Hancock Kennerly served during that first Seminole War before starting his mercantile store in St Louis with his brother James.
The Beale Papers always come back to the events in that extended family bloodline.

Here's an interesting side bar for you.....after his arrival into the United States do we know of any event in which Joseph Bonaparte was involved in the smuggling of illegally obtained priceless items into this country? The answer is yes, with documentation in support of this fact. So if this same individual was joined at the hip with those in the southwest then why is it still so difficult for some to imagine that other forms of illegally obtained wealth was smuggled into this country as well?

Twas just a joke Franklin :)

I could not resist on ECS's thread.

...
I went to the guys mansion party...
And he ran out of rolling papers...
So...
He suggested we roll his pot in some really old paper that he needed to get rid of anyway.

So... We smoked the Beale Papers :P
Was that back when you were Mel's cabinboy?
Mel looked for then gave up searching for the Beale treasure.

lol
hheh :)

No... that was when he fired you as cabin GIMP ! :P

:icon_scratch:WHAT were the "illegally obtained priceless items"...? ???

Two words...

Fowlers Bluff
No one ever saw the "pirate" chest Baird claimed he uncovered at Fowlers Bluff, or its contents-that story is based only on his word.
...and besides, that tale has nothing to do with the Beale treasure story.

Most of the families lived in Bedford and Botetourt counties.
The Risqué/Beale duel was fought in Fincastle.
The Lewis & Clark Expedition departed from Fincastle.
Pascal Buford came into contact with Thomas Beale during the Battle of New Orleans.
Both Kennerly and Hutter families has connections to St Louis.
William Clark married Julia Hancock, over whom the Risqué/Beale duel was fought.
Growing up, Ward and his Hutter cousins would have heard these family stories...
...stories that were adapted for the Beale Papers.
The Hutters both served the Confederacy, as well as friend, Max Guggenheimer, and were versed in CSA codes.
J P Risqué and party were massacred by Indians while inspecting gold/silver mines in Gold Gulch, Arizona.
Then will have Ward's cousin, John William Sherman, with a gift for the dramatic, who wrote plays for the local thespian group, and had a print shop, was a sub-editor for the LYNCHBURG VIRGINIAN, where the job pamphlet was advertised for sale, and eventually bought that newspaper.
Yes, this may well be a string of coincidences, but it is well beyond just happenstance, and could serve well as a foundation for a western treasure adventure dime novel that ends in Bedford county.
Another link in the chain of coincidence, is an article that appeared in the LYNCHBURG VIRGINIAN, April 16, 1879, when Charles W Button was owner/editor, and John William Sherman was a sub-editor.
The article was about a hidden treasure found in a Kentucky cave, placed there by Robert O Willis.
The inventory listed the treasure contents as $65,000 in GOLD, SILVER, and JEWELRY, which is conspicuously similar to the inventory list in the DOI solved C2 in the Beale Papers.

Hey I tried :)
Sorry If my post was directed at ECS and you got in the mix Franklin.
DE- friend away if that is what you like.

I only offered a friendship to you to begin with to show I was not "messing" with you.
heh

You ae obviously too serious or too sensitive for my taste it seems anyway.
So be it.

PS> I was serious in my posts about the Treasure to a degree.
So I contributed what I knew off the top of my head.
Instead of partaking.... you ahh... ?

First part was a joke... trying to mess a bit with ECS...
YOU responded.
And then acted like... emmm welp...
Lets just say the "friend" statement you just made/thing is ahhh ... Mutual.

To me this seems a pure and cut example of you misunderstanding the posts made by me... OR your on pot.
And "challenged"... as you called me.

All posts will be eventually deleted by me...
I will leave them temporarily so that all may enjoy... and learn...
Perhaps you will also...
after the longer than normal momentary lapse in reason subsides...
Maybe you can re-read and understand it correctly...
And maybe the realization will finally dawn on you of how weird / stupid that just was.
