Do you need hunting spots??? TRY THIS!!! @@

Thanks everyone. I'm looking forward to hunting at my new spots. I love old farm properties.

Just a word to those who are not too familiar with Craigslist.
As other people place ads too, yours will start to fall further and further down on the list in that particular section. It will basically get buried.
What you will need to do is re-list it every so often. I would suggest about every 3-4 days. Unfortunately on Craigs, you can just hit a "re-list" button. You will need to:
1) Save your ad (just the wording) somewhere on your computer so you don't need to retype it when you want to re-list it.
2) Once you have your wording saved, open the email they had sent you to activate your ad. Click "delete" ad. Now you original ad should be gone and you can re-list it again.
3) Now just go in and re-list your ad again using the steps I mentioned on my earlier post.
Just keep your ad going, and you should get some results with it.
Good luck to you all.

Well I got my first response...not sure how to reply to this....don't want to walk away empty handed. Any thoughts???

REPLY: I may be interested... I have a farmhouse from around 1810, with a barn. I am sure there are lots of items buried all over. I would want to keep anything that's found, though. So if it really is just for the thrill of the hunt, I'll bite.

Cntrydncr1,
Honestly, if I got a response like that, I would say you are willing to accept a 50/50 split. If not, "no thanks". I'm not into digging up items for someone so they can keep 100% of what I find. I'd pass on that one.
Congrats on getting your first reply though. Keep at it.

Thanks for your reply MM. That is exactly what I had decided to do. Too hard on this old body to dig with nothing to show for it! Deb

AWESOME IDEA! I totally used your idea for my area in va. Maybe I will finally have a decent place to go look! I hope my try pans out as well as yours did. Thanks for the tip!

I tried this several months ago, never got a response. I'll try again, you never know... :)

Doug,
Under what sections did you make that post for? I was thinking possibly Skilled Services --> Skilled Trade Services?? I'm not sure where would be the appropriate place to post it on there? I tip my hat to you though, it's a novel idea! Good way to think on your toes!!!

Once you find your state, then click on your nearest city. When you get to that page, in the upper left side look for "POST TO CLASSIFIEDS". Next, click on "FOR SALE / WANTED". Then scroll down to "ITEMS WANTED". Post your ad there.
As far as title (topic), I put "Wanted: Houses and/or properties to metal detect".
The rest is self-explanitory. Once you go through the steps you will receive an e-mail from Craiglist as a verification. Open that link to your post, and click "PUBLISH". You are good to go. Save that e-mail in case you need to edit your ad or cancel it.
Good luck & HH,
MM

From my ad I have been asked to help find gravemarkers at an older cemetary, then I can detect around the church yard!

I guess great minds think alike ;D I posted my ad yesterday, and this morning had 4 replies..people who have 100+ year old homes that would like to know what's buried around their properties. This is a really good way to go!
