I do a little knapping. Did this for my wife who is longer with me. Sorry the phone turned the picture on me.20200703_182621.jpg

Jon Stewart, That's nice! What is the lithic material?

creskol that's damned cool!

I used to make silver & gold-filled jewelry (as well as chainmail) using various techniques. Necklaces, bracelets, chokers, handflowers, etc..

That wild tamarind looks as nice as koa wood. I’d sure like to make a ukulele out of it. Or a Lapsteel guitar.
Here are some assembly jigs I made for building ukuleles.

It's funny how much time we spend on making tools to make making things easier. I stalled a knife project(halfway through) in order to build a belt grinder of a different kind than mine just to be able to do a different grind. Photos soon. Waiting on delivery of some parts... Those are some nice looking jigs to work with!

I do lost wax casting using the silver and gold I find detecting..Plus I cast cannons for fun. This one is about 35 pounds..

And it fires beautifully

The dolphin was one of my first attempts.. the others are 'somewhere' in the chaos that is our farm right now.. we just moved so everything is in boxes.. waiting

Here's the knife grinder I made to complete the new knife. There is also a pic of the first grind on it. About the time I laid the blade down for a shot, it started raining. I was wondering what the little dot was for a minute. That's the 80 grit finish. I'll probably finish this one from here on with a stone and file.

Wow man...I don't know which to like better...the knife or the grinder...that grinder is one hell of a build...and the finish on the knife shows it. Congrats on some beautiful work.

It does work good! I got the pattern off the net. I waited for some of the parts longer than it took to build.
