We were at a music video shoot in LA, in '90.

Bon Jovi was working with his good friend 'Aldo Nova'.
Making videos for 3 or so of his new songs, soon to
be released...

We met Curt Marvis, owner of 'The Company', and
Joey Plewa, who produced it, and another guy, I
think named John? who directed: They had both
played terrorists/thieves in 'Die Hard'. There's a
hill on the north side of downtown, overlooking
the skyline. They rented a carnival for part of their
background, and worked all night, to get the footage,
to make 3 videos. My favorite song was 'Someday', but
'Medicine Man' was pretty good too. It was really neat,
to see how they work, at making professional videos.

A GOOD caterer came in at about sunrise,
set up outside the tents, and custom made
us all awesome fresh hot yummy omelets .
He had the best fresh ground hot coffee.

'Twas Curt, the boss, who told us about that.
I remember he drove up in a new Lamborghini...

I had my 8mm camera, and filmed an interview
with him, and later, talking to Joey. Bon Jovi just
looked at me, when he saw me filming, but didn't
say anything about it. My wife met him, but I was
just a little bit too shy... 8-) :laughing7:

The Heinekens I had brought, were also good.
We sipped on them, out away from all that technical
work that was going on, there around our cars, looking
at all them sky scrapers, at the elevation, it was a sight,
for the city lights...

The experience was too cool, but security could
not allow any campfires. It got a little too cool, at
mid summer, with the ocean breeze at night, but
it sure was all a lotta' great fun... 8-) :fish:

There's an HD version of this video that is clearer, and this one
is a bit different, but still pretty interesting clip selections to watch. ... :fish:

The 'Wild Bunch' rode in to camp, I offered them a bite.
I talked 'ol Jay to have a snack, and an easy question asked.
E'r heard of a chest, locked in a cave? He said his Uncle, had once
spoken of such... Needless to say, I was surprised to hear about that.

No, I don't figure an old lock was easy to break, off of a chest.
But what were they doin' travelin cross them 'ol wild mountains,
with nary a firearm? :icon_scratch: :dontknow:

Why didn't they ever mention trying to break it? Then,
there was apparently an attempt to find it again, but to no avail...

Uncle gave me varied several specific details, and I promised him before
he died, and passed to the spirit land, I long shook his hand that I'd do my
best, to get organized, and go look for it...

So, guitar in hand at deer camp, one clear crisp and
moonlit night, deep in them infamous old haunted woods...

I was pickin' between songs, an' a youngin' piped in: 'Did I hear the intro to
fire on the mountain'? Well, we played it, and he had a voice, helping to sing
the poetic lines, near the warm campfire, to even the outlaw leaders' surprise,
smilin' big with natural country pride. I noticed he was singin' with an 'ol worn
.44 ~ 6 gun, strapped in antique leather holster on his side... 8-)

Them 'ol mountain boys all still know me, by first name on sight... :fish: :cross:

Saw 'em in Concert... LOVED 'em!

He always says "Y'all come see us in 'Carolina',
we'll show you some southern hospitality"... But I
never heard him say north, or south... :icon_scratch: :laughing7: :fish:

A lot of good country rock songs have come out of the professional writers
of Nashville. Then of course, the industry needs commercial
stuff, to make everybody a good livin'... 8-) :fish:
