We were at a music video shoot in LA, in '90.
Bon Jovi was working with his good friend 'Aldo Nova'.
Making videos for 3 or so of his new songs, soon to
be released...
We met Curt Marvis, owner of 'The Company', and
Joey Plewa, who produced it, and another guy, I
think named John? who directed: They had both
played terrorists/thieves in 'Die Hard'. There's a
hill on the north side of downtown, overlooking
the skyline. They rented a carnival for part of their
background, and worked all night, to get the footage,
to make 3 videos. My favorite song was 'Someday', but
'Medicine Man' was pretty good too. It was really neat,
to see how they work, at making professional videos.
A GOOD caterer came in at about sunrise,
set up outside the tents, and custom made
us all awesome fresh hot yummy omelets .
He had the best fresh ground hot coffee.
'Twas Curt, the boss, who told us about that.
I remember he drove up in a new Lamborghini...
I had my 8mm camera, and filmed an interview
with him, and later, talking to Joey. Bon Jovi just
looked at me, when he saw me filming, but didn't
say anything about it. My wife met him, but I was
just a little bit too shy...
The Heinekens I had brought, were also good.
We sipped on them, out away from all that technical
work that was going on, there around our cars, looking
at all them sky scrapers, at the elevation, it was a sight,
for the city lights...
The experience was too cool, but security could
not allow any campfires. It got a little too cool, at
mid summer, with the ocean breeze at night, but
it sure was all a lotta' great fun...
