Day 2 new permission. 5 silver's,1808 half cent, 2 large cents and a NJ copper!

Started back at the new permission this morning with a nice solid 3 inches of frozen ground. Started out with a new jersey copper, my first in almost 3 years. It's thick, but pretty warn. Next came the beautiful 1818 large cent. After that followed with my first ever capped bust large cent, 1810. Fourth copper was another first, an 1808 draped bust half cent!!!

After that little copper frenzy was over, I went back to the spot in the field where I found the silver's yesterday. I got real deep, scratchy iron signals, but with silver like numbers. All over a foot, I pulled out five silver coins in a 2 by 2 foot area. First was a Washington quarter, then a barber quarter. Then came another first for me, a 1918 walking liberty half! I nicked it with the shovel though. Darn thing was over a foot deep and since the signal was faint and scratchy the pinpointing was off. Then ended up getting another barber quarter and a washington!

Also got several relics. The usual buttons. Not sure what the large brass horn shaped(pipe shaped) piece is. It was deep. Nice bone handled pocket knife and a few other odds and ends.

My best coin day by far. So thrilled and on cloud nine! HH!

Those finds are too sweet. I wish I had those LCs and that half penny. Love them early american coppers. Lucky to find so many great coins in one spot! Worthy of a BANNER!. You got my vote. HH!

Wow, all those in one place? I didn't think you could hunt on the White House lawn. Lol, congratulations. Keep that place a secret!

What a coin day you had Matt! And those coppers came out great with that nice looking patina. I agree with that one item being a teapot spout. Dan found one of those not long ago. It looks like these finds are not from your button site. Are you finished with that now?

No, not button hill. I acquired this property on Monday afternoon. It's the same place I found the two plates and 3 silver's. I'm not totally done with button hill, but it was pretty dry last visit. Time to move on and secure some new sites.

It's very visible from the road and has been hunted by a lot apparently. They didn't have my machine or determination. :)

for the love of old money, holy cow:o!Hang on to that place matt!

I dream about having a day like that, Congrats on a Sweet hunt!!

Congrats on your finds. What tool are you using to cut through the frozen soil?

Now that's an epic hunt right there! And you even broke through the frozen tundra, that takes dedication!

Matt, that F75 is doing a great job for you. Hit the site again. You have been the Tnet "Coin Master" this week. HH, Q.

WOW!!! Congrats on that great hunt. That is more good coins than I have ever seem posted in one thread, it would be my dream hunt. You deserved the banner, most people could only dream of a hunt like that. You have mastered all of the categories of coins found, only in one hunt, Silver, big silver, half cents, large cents, colonial coin, draped bust, the elusive classic head, matron head, and state copper.

I am officially envious!

Two seconds ago I was reading another post and this was not on the banner, I went to another page and when I went there I saw this on the banner and had to click on it.

Coinman123,

Coinman123,

Well thank you and thanks for the banner. I was just lucky to hit a jackpot of a spot. Hard work, foot work and going against what the landowner told me. If someone tells you the property has been hunted to death, don't let that steer you away. Because that wasn't the case here. Far from it.

Congrats on the Banner Matt..
Looks like January and February is the month you want to post your finds ..lol.
George

Here's a shot of all the finds from the 2 days I hunted there minus the standing liberty quarter of course, which I mentioned I gave to the land owner. 1 and a half days really.
