Curse of Oak Island, Season 3

Nothing personal against them of course; I'd trade places with them in a NY minute. My criticism is with the show producer's prerogative for misleading or false narratives, rearranging taped footage out of chronological order, and manufactured drama.

Though I suppose it's all moot; after all this is bread and butter for a "historical reality drama" on the History Channel these days.

I watch the show. However, in my opinion, they are too helter skelter in their searching. They try this and they try that. What interests me is the 'money pit' which has proven to have many layers of wood. This was done in a time when only man power was available to do the work. That much effort wan not done for nothing and it must have been a massive effort to accomplish. That is one DEEP hole! That is where I would concentrate my efforts and money.

I agree. But, then the show can last for centuries, because they have to spend a year on every new possible tunnel.

I want one of those machines that can see gold, and silver, and bronze, and rubies?, and maybe even??? count the change before you dig it!

They should have done this like a series documentary. No scripts, just a host. Like they did the with Mel and the Atocha. At least it was professional, instead of making it cheap , the reality way!!!

I thought this show was a treasure show, not what can I salvage out of my hard to sell at the scrap yard this week, I would be embarrassed to have treasure hunters think that I was even hunting for treasure if this is all I could produce in this amount of time,If they got an honest clue, they couldn't follow it,they wouldn't know what to do with it, the producers of this program and every one involved with it should be embarrassed ,up to this point its shameful to even be called a treasure show,:dontknow: NP:cat: ps, I didn't even rate it one:coffee2:

They seem to be walking the fine line between protecting their interest in the property and revealing there is nothing there. That is my best guess. Consider a lot sold for $230,000 before the Laginas bought a considerable share of the island in 2006. It is not inconceivable they are holding a value of $20 million in land at that price.

What would happen if it were revealed there was no Holy Grail, Ark of the Covenant, Spear of Destiny, (up an including Noah's Ark, Moses Staff, and Jesus Crown of Thorns) or pirate treasure to be found on Oak Island?

Watching drillers work is about as exciting as watching paint dry, so they have to have something to fill up the episode slots. They travel around to interesting locations, talk to dubious experts, introduce a lot of exciting red herrings (" . . . and if so, perhaps . . . ") which is de rigueur for the History Channel: converting nothing into television programming.

Can't blame the Laginas Bros because they are (hopefully) getting funding from the producers.

Nothing is "proven", you are just believing the con game. LEGEND says there were layers of wood, there is no proof of it. LEGEND says they found coconut fiber matting, there is no proof. LEGEND says they found a rock with an inscription, there is no proof. LEGEND also says boys found the pit depression under a hanging tackle block from a tree...... yep you guessed it THERE IS NO PROOF.

I can't wait for Season 78, The Laginia's great great grandchildren finally find gold

My guess it will turn out to be a plated gold ring from 2033

yep ! That's when the "money Pit" Dries up :laughing7:

I find is very interesting to see how hard everything is to actually do. They have not mentioned the swamp this series. Did they actually ever drain it and check the bottom? It does seem like some others have said that there appears to be water pretty much everywhere they dig which would suggest a water table down at that depth they are digging.

It seemed pretty easy to get the water level to drop in 10X I would empty it at least till the smaller hole and clean it out. But I do not know anything about engineering so do not really understand why one of the brothers thinks it would be to dangerous to do.

I must admit the more that is shown the less a "massive big hiding place and tunnel complex" seems not likely. There would be lots more artifacts left over from a massive mining tunneling operation.

I wish they would go back to where they think they may have found chapel's chest and dig some more holes there.

I am still looking forward to the next show. My wife has started watching also now and we both find the whole challenge a wonderful adventure. I really do hope they find something amazing... They do deserve to get something.

If there is a body in the shaft then the number of dead people now fits the legend of when the treasure will be found......

"They have not mentioned the swamp this series."

Why didn't that fancy nuke machine pickup anything in the swamp? ...................Or did it?

Many episodes have started down a particular path, teasing us along the way. The following episodes then abandon that particular storyline without any logical explanation and we're being introduced to another of their "adventures" which inevitably leads to a cliffhanger ending... Only to have that storyline left unresolved by the next episode.

Whatever happened with Peter from Norway and his Shakespeare codes ? Nolan's cross ?

It may be that I've missed a few shows but it just seems there's a lot of loose threads.

Tried to get a screen capture of the designated teasaures in an around the Money Pit. Appears to be nothing near the pit or in Smiths Cove in the Leonard's presentation.

They need J. Putzler to make a return appearance, getting too normal :alien:

Nah, he was only there as a tryout for his own series. Took over the war room, the camera, and the dig. They hoped the audience would get comfy with him. He hoped to make a marketable name History Channel could sell. Fiasco.

Marty and the crew finally had enough. They held the sidebar and told the divers personally there would not be a second dive. When Marty's eyes turn to slits he's not just doubting, he's about to make a command decision in the negative direction.

Although I wouldn't be surprised they bring J. Hutton Pulitzer back, I wouldn't tune in if they did. His "evidence" an eight pointed star and this tip that looks like an Egyptian pyramid" was the black hole of theories.

I couldn't believe they kept him around longer than it would take to pack his bags. But as I said, I think those guys are walking a fine line right now.
