Curious Tree Markings (Updated: More Photos)

apparently I can't send PM's at this time.

This message keeps getting rejected so here goes:

I thought I saw some Cherokee lettering on that tree. Get a copy of the Cherokee alphabet here:

http://www.native-languages.org/cherokee_alphabet.htm

Check against your carvings.

The carver may have just carved that message around the lowercase h . . . which is "ni" in Cherokee . . . to obfuscate what was already there.

If it's Cherokee, most likely a "witness tree" and not treasure related. Beech trees were used to tell stories . . . but the whites were determined that they were treasure related. They are treasure related, but the treasure is the tribal stories and history on the trees --- not silver or gold.

And the more I look......
