Cross, "C" and I was just curious about that rock i pointed out with the arrow...

I noticed the same things, thanks for confirming that my imagination is running terribly wild :D

I didn't even notice the rock you pointed out and I was standing right there! It looks like a stand alone rock....not attached to the cliff face......

I will tray agen.
I was hoping some one would point this out. There is a triangle on the tree right side in pic 2000. maybe some one can mark it. There is a triangle on rock wall in the middle to the left. be low that triangle is a tretul ?? or some thing and some thing is chasing him I do not know what it is?? they are going to the left or may be WEST??. Ok to the right of triangle at top on rock wall is a shadow Bird?? and be hind it is some thing ??? O there is a mark on tree pointing left. JMc

Yes, I do so the triangle on the tree and the mark you refer to. I didn't even notice that big triangle...lol. I did notice the mark or pointer but I didn't think to include it as it didn't seem to fit in or make sense. I'm learning now that everything is a possible clue and I won't err in that regard again. Again, thanks for "painting" those images, I completely see everything you're telling me. The triangle looks carved doesn't it?! I need to get back up there....

have you looked up SEXTON on the NET :sign13: what a sexton job was or is??? A keeper of some thing valuable?

Ok I think I am seeing thing know . :tongue3: In pic 1985 and in 1990 there is a flower in the tree to the left in the back ground or it is the star of David? there may be more on tree?? Is there three trees in all? In that pic the word FORD macks a triangle ORO with the R in the middle of a triangle. What about that rock on ground looks like a chia pet. there more in 2004.

I never even thought to look it up, I've been hung up on thinking the carving was a last name.

From medieval Latin: sacristanus: An individual responsible for the care of objects considered to be sacred. :sign13:

This could explain the period between Bertha and Sexton. Perhaps Bertha was the sexton instead of a Sexton :icon_scratch:

Wow, thank you much justinmc.

I need to stay out of the woods!

Anyone else notice that the "h" is the ONLY letter in her name that is not upper case in ALL of the pics above that have her name?

Why?

Think . . .

In photo #2017, just above, the "S" in Sexton is backwards also; the only one. :icon_scratch: Plus, the "N" in it looks like it is in 2 pieces.........maybe an "I" and a "V".

Something is being said with all of these carvings but I will be the first to throw in the towel, the more I study, the more confused I become. :help: I'm afraid to look at any more Beech trees on this property because I just know they'll be carved up and provide that much more confusion :laughing7:

Picture 2015 does resemble the cliff outline of the area in which it's carved. Every little bit helps Poorfarm, thank you.
