CRISPINS CRITTERS

You guys sure know how to make me jealous! I did wear shorts today though. Don't laugh I weren't the only one wearing shorts in 41* weather! I hate wearing long pants.

Scott, I haven't had time to call a dealer to get code. The keys go into each other quad but don't turn in the switch. The blue quad is a 1991 and the green quad a 1997. Both King quads by Suzuki

I have determined the correct blank, the code card to cut the depths that I visually read.

(HP "Blitz" code card.)

I could also cut it on a micrometer card....

I'll send one of each to you for your two quads.
If they work OK, I'll send another pair.

Enjoy your time tinkerin' on 'em, Boss! :occasion14:

Best Wishes,

Scott

Scott I hate to do this -- B4 to C-6. Back to you friend. Lt Col Chestie Puller USMC Once said " Retreat hell, I'm just fighting in a different direction "

Best Wishes,

Scott

PS. The experience that you had, reconnecting with your first Doctor, is the same experience that I want to provide eventually through my Academic pursuits.

Obviously she made an impression upon you for her caring nature. I'd love to meet her!

I also want to be able to provide that same impression upon others.

Thanks Scott!! You are definitely the key master! The blue quad will have a rebuilt carburetor installed tomorrow and hopefully find some time to pop new u-joints in both rear axle shafts. I also have to make the wife happy by building another cabinet for the kitchen tomorrow and doing some muding of new drywall in the extra bedroom and go shopping with her for the weeks groceries. This is the first Sunday she hasn't worked in months! The month of December she works a couple 14 day stretches! I told her no Christmas though!
Here's a picture of carburetor before I ultrasonic cleaned it...

Had to come up to the Subaru dealer for the first oil change on my wife's new Forrester. It's definitely cold up here! Your right I need to be in Florida!

A "Scooby-Doo," Huh?

Hope you got a back-up key.

Depending on the year of that Forester, it would get pricey to generate a key from scratch.
They all take a "chip."
From '09 to '11, they take a DAT17T13 blank.
Which is "High Security."

"Ain't likely to get that cut at yer Walmart."

Some folks call these, "Laser Cut" keys.
There's no laser involved.
Only a pricey special machine.

As in $15,000 pricey...

'05-'08 uses a SUB4-PT.

sub4pt.jpg

A regular key, non high security.

Both have to be programmed to the car once they are cut.

Copies, including programming, are under $100 mostly for non-remote heads.
Them'll run ya a bit more.

Starting from scratch?
{lowers his head and gives a slight whistle....}
Including the service call for me to come to you?

Oh, you could pay to have it towed to me, but really?

Hope you got copies, Bro!

Everybody needs copies!
Save yourself money and headaches!
Best,

Scott

I take it that the float is good and the alignment for the float pin is good, right?

(Been there, done that. Learned the hard way on a 350 Honda.
A "Kheim" carb, if I remember correctly....

You be one Lucky Dog, Hoss!
Dang,
Wish I was there!

Best,

Scott

I have two spared. One is a valley key and the other a matching remote key. It's a 2016 so like you said it's a expensive key to replace

Yeah float is good but I had to be a miracle worker to get it out as someone had staked the float pin to the carb body! And they also had stripped several screw heads and assembled it incorrectly!

I've only laid about 10 square feet of vct in my life but have done lots of stone and porcelain tile. I wish you had been here when I roughed in my drains and vents! I hated every minute of that!

Tip for mudding sheetrock:

Many thin applications. Less sanding. Less dust. Less waste.
When it feels smooth to the hand and flashlight used to find any blemishes, Dampen large sponge. Go over lightly all areas. Will remove residual drywall dust allowing paint to have a clean surface to adhere to when applied!
