Wow that's a lot of study. Alot! Mythology did/ does give a cause for many phenomena. From dark ,to light,to dark.

Bill,

I'm going to try and stop in more often. The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills....Robert Jordan. I was kinda forced to go off the grid for a while. It is a long, magnificent story involving casinos, GIB, and millions of dollars. Luckily we came out on the right side of the law, lol. Anyway, I don't have to hide anymore. It is a good feeling. Part of the job....

Ok I need help............My son seems to have dropped off his Pit Bull......Just until I move dad.........moved 5 weeks ago, every night its the same thing, I go outside to bring the dogs inside to put them in the garage, every night they are gone.........the holes under my wooden fence are getting bigger and bigger........then me and the boys start our search party. So far we have been lucky. The next day, trip to Lowes, 3 bags of Quickrete, fill in the hole........I'm tired.........now of course I could tie the dogs up in the middle of the yard, but there's no shade, I could tie them up where there is shade then i fear they might hang themselves..........but everynight its the same story and this old man is afraid I'm going to find thm as road kill one search pattern and this is getting on my nerves........I'm to the point I might line the bottom of the fence with barbed wire, hurt them sure, safe them, hell yeah............does anybody have any ideas what I can do to stop these dogs from digging out every day and they usually do it in the evening. Oh they didnt start doing it until my sons dog showed up! FRUSTRATED............Got to go lay three more bags of quikrete...................

Sounds like the culprit is the son's dog.....he needs to go home, which he is trying to do by digging out. The other's just follow suit, and should stop as soon as their cousin goes home!,,,Gary

2GF,

Maybe spread some curry powder or something similar along the fence line will deter them from digging.

Well sir, I'm going to refrain from what I would be telling your son!
Even when his dog leaves ,yours have learned how to escape. Diggers will dig once they learn it means a romp.. My cure has been to build a lower kennel in my fenced yard after putting landscaping timbers around the perimeter they dig under not working. The trick is to take woven wire fence and lay it flat towards dogs area and fasten it to vertical fence. I prefer to bury it a couple inches at least to allow mowing and the dogs to run on dirt rather than wire, but that is work. A couple feet width is enough for most smaller dogs but with your size in order to discourage going under, four feet wide would not bother me.Fence wire also gets buried vertical under gate(s) also with top just below ground level.
Not insulting you as I know you don,t like it either, tying dogs out ,yep it is risky.

TGF, I have a petsafe radio fence for my hound / lab mix. She loves to run. With the radio fence she gets zapped and runs back to the house yelping. Works perfect no real fence...

In honor of the dogs...
