CRISPINS CRITTERS

Look, Friends,
Guess I'll be bouncin' out of here now tonight.

It's been fun and relevating.

I've connected with my Friends, expressed my thoughts, and provided, I hope seeds of thought and wisdom.

I might find time to search this weekend with one of my metal detectors or I may spend the weekend planning my next trip to the mountains of North Georgia.
(Best to bet on the Mountains, if you know Scott....)

My Best to all and a Great Weekend!

Scott

A different version....

OK not a different version, but the best version....

Oh, Yeah!

Best,

Scott

I remember the first time
Yeah, down in Jefftown creek
You and me and a bottle of wine
And the night just felt so sweet

Came up Sunday morning, the first day of the week
And I found that I had changed down in Jefftown creek...

I know that I'm not the same anymore
Well, can't you see its true
Find all the answers and pass them along
Hope that it's me and you

When I found all the answers, the words I could not speak
But I knew that I had changed down in Jefftown creek

When I found all the answers, the words I could not speak
But I knew that I had changed down in Jefftown creek

No more posts tonight, no more stories.
The day ahead is yours.
How will it be spent?

Good Night, my Friends!

My Best,

Scott

Folks,

Kenny Rogers + Lionel Richie - Lady.

Reminds me of the closeness of my locksmith Friend and I....
We're both older, but I seem to be the forgetful dinosaur....but I have NO grey hair.
Well, Some.... But not totally....

EXCELLENT musical selection!

Best,

Scott

PS.
Yes, I'm reading older posts and trying to catch up.....

Scott,
I used to set 'duck pins' at a bowling alley in Norwalk, Conn. when that Patsy Cline song was a hit; a mere 50+ years ago.
Wonder if anyone else remembers 'duck pins'; small bowling pins where you were given three rolls versus two rolls to knock them all down.
Don.....
PS: I'll bet fewer still remember 'pin boys' who set the pins before automatic pin setters.

Don,
A guy that I trained on a Meile V-50 Press printing financial instraments was dating the daughter of the Postmaster of the City.

Oh, Hell! I could tell 6-10 stories about the antics...
like picking the lock of his liquor cabinet while he was away?

Um...

I may be straying into things I really shouldn't be talking about....

Best,

Scott

Folks,

This is a great song by Rod Stewart + Amy Belle = I don't want to talk about it.

Rod was discovered by Long John Baldry busking and he paid it forward by highlighting Amy Belle who was doing the same thing....what goes around....comes around.

Very nice, Bill.

It was listened to at this moment, for the first time,
and it hit me in the right mood and I felt....what do I feel?
Comforted, loved and accepted. A powerful song.

Well played, my Friend. Well played.

My Best,

Scott

Some one say Brick House? OWW!(do not sing it bit.. spouse, G.I.B.!)

Lionel Ritchie is a close friend of Diana Ross....
So I've heard.....

Best,

Scott

Good morning everyone! Hope Scott is getting some sleep! He was up posting till about 0400 hrs my time!

"Long Black Veil" is a 1959 country ballad, written by Danny Dill and Marijohn Wilkin and originally recorded by Lefty Frizzell.

A saga song, "Long Black Veil" is told from the point of view of an executed man falsely accused of murder. He refuses to provide an alibi, since on the night of the murder he was having an affair with his best friend's wife, and would rather die and take their secret to his grave than admit the truth. The chorus describes the woman's mourning visits to his gravesite, wearing a long black veil and enduring a wailing wind.

And a very haunting rendition by the traditional Irish folk group, The Chieftains

Some classic R&B from Huey "Piano" Smith in 1958 - a long forgotten but very catchy song. Guy Ritchie resurrected the song as the closing track of his 2000 movie "Snatch". Kind of stayed in my brain for a little while after that....

If Bernadette Peters retired and never sang again, she still recorded this beautiful song in 1980....

Out of a peculiarity of my personality, maybe let me claim posting the earliest recorded music on this thread!!!

1891 George J. Gaskin - Drill Ye Terriers Drill

Crispin,

Glad all is well with the crew...good vibes heading your way....give Pat a big hug for me and good luck beach hunting.

I wasn't on last night thanks to the horrendous winds we had a power outage and yeah we got some firewood for the fireplace ready.....I used to be a boy scout before getting booted out...lol....but I did remember the "always be prepared motto"......so at least that stuck.

Regards + HH

Bill
