I wanted to speak to something and hopefully not everyone has gone to bed..
I know that some of us on this thread have posted on the political threads as well.
My thought is that we put our differences aside and have fun here.
I think a problem occurs when one person insults another on another thread.
My question is..how does that ever get resolved so that the group experience here is genuine?
Any thoughts you all???
Thanks...Barb

I guess we remember the 70's TV Series "Kung Fu" One of my favorite lines from Master Po, the blind master - But how is it you can hear the grasshopper at your feet?" How is it you don't? I come from a horrible childhood. I left home at 16 joined the Army at 17, they had to find my parents to sign the papers and all..........So my role model was Qui Chain Kane, I wanted to be like him. I was a peaceful kid, studied martial arts, couldnt handle the beatings at home, alcoholic father, mom always taking up for him, I bled to much. He stole my childhood..................so anyway, I had a Pitbull with Blue eyes. I named him Master Po. Just like the character. So one day, good ole pops tried to cut my throat, still got the scar and Master Po attacked him, tore him up good.......Know what he told me? You better put him down by night time or they wont find you or your GD dog........the longest day of my life..........I LOVED my dog..........anyway why not join they could kill me but couldnt eat me, besides they couldnt do anything he hadnt done to me. Needless to say, the 4 SERE schools I would attend were shall we say walks in the park.........thanks guys, sorry about the old memories, but that @$$hole's been dead, I never attended his funeral..........I would have pissed on his grave..........Long live Grasshoppers, from master to pupils...........

Squig,

Since I most likely am one of the one's you are referring to, I will give a very honest answer. You go to work every day, and return home at night.....and the office of job stays their, and nothing is broght home. If you carry around petty snipes and things that were said to or about you, you will not last long. I am very set in my beliefs, since most of them come from experiences in the real world, and not a utopian world I carry with me. You have to be able to listen, and deseminate what is real,FOR YOU, and not worry about how other's think, and react.....and they need to do the same.

I see several individuals on here who are very unhappy, and spend their time in a negative mind set, not matter the subject, and they will eat themselves up eventually. We are all fairly intelligent individuals, but something I learned a long time ago....Intelligence is the ability to learn and become educated.....wisdom is knowing what to do with that gained knowledge.

The other factor is human nature....no-one, me in particular like to have constantly defend and explain my beliefs and opinions...they are easy to read and concise...my problem that I strike back at is the constant sniping and questioning of my opinions. You asked for them, I stated them...agree or disagree, and move on.....I'm too old and advanced to change how aI think, and some of the younger generations should listen more, and realize that someday they will be where we are, and perhaps will feel the same way.

Like Vegas, whatever I say elsewhere's stays there. I don't bring the petty arguments here, just like I don't bring work to my home. That's easy for me to do because I feel at ease here, and while I may not like or agree with other's, those issues are not handled in or on a public forum. Good question, and was I hope a good answer......my best to you.....Gary

well, I guess I just like a good debate now and again. But I try to keep that away from here

Thanks Gary..it was a great answer! I want you to know that I was not referring to you or anyone in particular...I also state my opinions on those threads.
I personally am comfortable with my beliefs, I also don't have a need to change anyone else's...if I did I would have you all be vegetarian. ..lol! :)

My purpose in addressing this topic, since I know of one person who struggles with it was to open it for discussion. ..
Thanks Gary for your response. .

Barb,

I think I know who you mean, and if it is you may remember a long post of mine trying to get him to lighten up, mostly on himself, taking everything personal, will only adversely affect your well- being....hell I would have given up years ago without developing thick elephant skin.....we are all individuals, and should be left as such. Think of this place like the coffee house on FRiends......a good place to meet, eat, listen to good music, and all go home happy.....Gary

I don't remember that post, not sure who you mean, but I sure like the Friends meeting place!

I can disagree on one thread with some one and change hats on another thread for the sake of thread starter.
Not changing how a subject matters elsewhere, but its not like it pays cash to beat a dead horse.Few here would likely want to ruin time together over it at a potluck on the lake?On jobs with conflicts its been understood we had to get along enough to get the job done. Like the holiday get together with relatives you would rather love at a distance yet all get along by choice.Well, in theory anyway...

My friends,

Loyalty and friendship has brought me back here when I am needed urgently. Remember, I would never abandon any of you. I will be available over PM for the next few days, over PM only, for those who I may be blessed to help. My positions have not changed...I choose not to fight. God bless you all. Thank you WorldTalker.
