CRISPINS CRITTERS

You see, Friends, that music is Universal;
It conveys all emotions.
From sad to happy. From worried to a "Satisfied Mind." (Rusty Draper)

We all could not live without music.

Whether it is marching songs to war, love songs to our sweetie, or just in how we feel,
Music is a part of the human existence.

What is your choice today?

I'll try to post your requests.....
Regardless of YOUR connection to music.
Shucks, I've surely felt the same, being as damn old as I am....

Best,

Scott

Scott,

You can save some money by using the artificial crap,( Pollack), and just vegatables. I also have made it with salmon, and shrimp. Fun to make, and good for you, It's the food you wish your mother had made you eat........Gary

My Mom never introduced exotic cuisines in my youth; my Dad was a "Meat and Potatoes" kind of guy.
I was in my 30's before I ever tried "Chinese foods."

I have just within the last 2 years discovered sushi.

What I missed in my youth.....

Best,

Scott

My mother still cooks only meat and potatos.....My first venture into oriental food was the flaming poo-poo platter, and a large zombie in the Chinese eatery when in college. Now it's a important portion of what I cook and eat. Gary

I'm assuming from your post that you are a Veteran.

If I am correct, what branch?

Best,

Scott

I am air-force vet, 1967-1971..... I have dated Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and my wife now is Filipino, my ex is white.

I didn't meet my current wife in the service, we were pen-pals, I decided I wanted to meet her in person after we corresponded for a year.........Made 2 trips to the Philippines..... We will be celebrating our 16 year anniversary in November....

That is funny Scott. Since I grew up around cows I was also a meat and taters guy. I didn't try Chinese food till I was 48! lolol Still haven't gone to the sushi bar though. But every year at branding time we got "calf fries" mmmmmmm good when done right.

By the way,, I do so love the Chinese buffets now! Just can't get my wife to go with me:laughing7:!

TH,

Nice to see you visiting us, you seem to be there when help, and guidance are needed. Hope you stay around. Gary

Dave,

Good Chinese food will grow on you, but my opinion is that THai, is the best of the orient..But even that doesn't beat venison backstrap on the grill......Gary

Haven't tried Thai yet. Plenty of backstrap! How about dove breast wrapped in bacon and skewered with a jalapeno over an open pit of mesquite? mmmmmm

maybe I am starvin. I better go fix that.

Dave,

Two items to address....

Number one:
To ease you in slowly to sushi, I recommend "California Roll."

Number two:
To get your wife to accompany you, I suggest telling her that you are going to meet a couple of female co-workers for a "Business Dinner."

She will certainly be curious, suspicious and want to attend.

Be prepared for this with flowers for her, and an explanation that you want to experience new things TOGETHER!

And,
That's how to keep it "alive!"

Best,

Scott

Dove is a wonderful snack, have done it with the bacon, but not the jalapeno, guess it's time to bait the bird bath again:laughing7:

Scott, Maybe that is the best way to get her to go. How could she refuse?( I am in construction, she will definitely want to see who I am talking about):laughing7:

My fav is shrimp tempura, spicy scallop and soft shelled crab and of course the nigiri tuna. Forget the California roll

Certainly is lucky that I ate a good meal before this discussion took place, otherwise I'd be out in the garage rifling through the freezer!
