CRISPINS CRITTERS

you defiantly made your money back

The gold Saint Gaudens is 1927.

If real, is worth over $1000.

I will weigh it and perform my due diligence to ascertain it's genuineness.

And may certainly submit it for grading.....

And, there is also the other coins....
I haven't even looked at them yet....

I'll post a breakdown of all of them soon.

Scott

PS:

I'll take a good picture of the St. Gaudens and it may soon become my new avatar!

Anyone know of a safe for sale that you don't know the combination?

Preliminary count of the remaining coins are:

3 Mercury dimes.
8 Roosevelt dimes.
9 Franklin halves.
6 Kennedy halves.

Dates and mint marks later.....when I get to them.
After all, I have to replace a gear in a lower drive unit of a "center-rider jack" tomorrow and I need my sleep....

Scott

And, yes. The safe is viable still with a 4 number combination required to open.
DAMN, I'm good!
It's fortunate that I'm an honest man.....

With all of the time on my hands, it's a wonder.....

And, I'll leave my Friends tonight with another tune by Styx;
One, more in line with my true personality....

From way back when I Volunteered to Serve America by joining the Army.
Right out of High School.
I was heavily recruited......
They must have seen something in me.....
Perhaps my multi-linguistic ability.....:dontknow:
I spoke fluent German when I was 12 and learned other languages rapidly.....
To really speak a language is to understand the nuances, slang, and regular speech of the "locals."
Dig? I did.

Years later, I was in the local grocery store and happened upon my second grade teacher, Mrs Luthy.
I spoke to her and she said,
"I remember you. I remember a couple of men in suits came and asked me questions about you. I hope I answered correctly."
I just smiled and said, "If you answered truthfully, you answered correctly."

Hope all are Well.

GREAT SCORE BUD!!!!!!!!

I hope it's real.

But, I'm mostly happy that I was able to drill in the right spot and put the dial back on and you can't see where I drilled.

The safe alone was worth the $25 I spent!

Scott

Scott, did you ever open an old safe by listening to the tumblers fall in place? Like those old time safecrackers.
That was well worth the money :)

Awesome score!
Hope there's some very rare ones in there.

Three contractors are bidding to fix the White House fence.
One from New Jersey, another from Tennessee and the third, Florida. They go with a White House official to examine the fence.
The Florida contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says. "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The New Jersey contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers: "$2,700."

The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?"
"Easy," the Jerseyian explains, "$1,000 for you, $1,000 for me and we hire the guy from Tennessee."

I also met with a property agent after work today to look at a 2 bedroom one side of a duplex only 5 minutes from work.
I'll fill out the application online this weekend and hope to be approved by the first of May.
That gives me 2 months to move.
Won't have to rush or hurry.

I'll just take some stuff over every day after work.

Hope all are Well!

Harbor freight is now in Rockland here too. As you said it’s cheap tools, but some of them are pretty tough for what they are. I almost always buy quality tools, I don’t mind spending more though. We even have a five guys burger in Augusta now! Sadly it’s at least 20 miles each way for me!!!!!
I would love to sluice some more gold where you are again. I bought my sluice at Armadillo mining shop in Grants Pass back in probably 1995 it must have been

Although I peruse past posts, somehow I missed this post....

As a mechanic, I am not interested in buying inferior "knuckle-busting" tools.
The majority of my hand tools are Craftsman, although I find it hard not to buy this or that from the "rape wagon" (Snap-On mobile dealer).
As far as Harbor Freight, I might buy a hammer or a screwdriver, etc, 'cause it's hard for a no-name brand to screw up such an item,
but, if it is a tool that I use a lot, it HAS to be quality!

Ah! Sluicing for gold!
I know of several locations around Dahlonega that produce gold.
I even made a back-packer sluice box...
But, haven't had much time to enjoy the hobby of late.

Perhaps once I get settled in my new digs, I'll make time!

Word just came down today that since the summer season is here, meaning more production,
that means that starting Monday until further notice, I'll be putting in 10 hour days.....

Oh well. I guess that I can use the money.

Best,

Scott

Just spoke with my Landlord and told him of my potential relocation.
He seemed happy for me and invited me to go shooting this weekend.
OK. I feel like throwing some lead this weekend.....
He wants to show me how far along his house is.....
Rub it in, Michael, rub it in....

Really, though, I'm happy for him and know that whenever he has a bottle of whiskey that he needs help emptying, or a couple of steaks grilling,
He will call me to come share!

Best,

Scott

Y'all like my new avatar?

And,
GoldBoy, your Charter Membership is in the works! :icon_thumright:
