The reason that I will soon be relocating is that my Landlord's house that he is building is moving along more rapidly than I'd prefer......
I will have to move when it is completed.
Houma, Louisiana has a distribution facility associated with the company that I work for now.
And, since I spent my last vacation in New Orleans, last September, I've become fond of the area.
Houma is only an hour south-west of New Orleans.
I'll meet this week with the Human Resource Director at my current job to discuss possible transfer to Houma in the coming year.
I've done some recon and already have a vacation planned again soon to visit the area.
I'll look into housing, land for sale and ability to continue my passion of helping Vets in Veterans Court.
Perhaps Judge Roberts can assist me in this endeavor....
Dang.
As I've gotten older, I've found that I'm not really keen on
"changes."
That, and moving in itself is a pain.
Whether it is across the street or across the country.....
On another note, I've had several more correspondences about my 78 rpm's for sale.
My Blind Blake, The Texas Nighthawks and The Carroll County Boys will be heading to a collector in Tulsa.
I have an electric console player from the 60's, a "Morse," that plays 78 rpms,
and arranged a phone call with him to play the discs today, over the phone, after having sent him photos of the discs.
It appears that I will be able to sell another dozen or so to other collectors for about $1000 or more....
Although the electric console player has issues with the speed of the discs that are played, I will record the discs sold.
(Helpful image of a "Morse" console record player)
Some of the other discs being discussed for sale include:
Kokomo Arnold
Lonnie Johnson
Butterbeans and Susie
Ida Cox
Little Son Jackson
Susie Smith
Jelly Roll Morton
Blue Belle
Nora Bayes
Lillie Delk Christian
Here's the Blind Blake recordings....
(Playing 78's on a Victrola damages the discs due to the steel needles.
I prefer to play my discs on the electric player. Not quite the same "feel" but, the discs will last longer)
It takes some time and effort to record and download videos...
Got the laundry washed, dried and put away.
Dishes are done.
Supper is on the stove and a new week soon will be here.
Veterans Court is Tuesday and I've messaged a couple of the Vets that I mentor,
requesting that they accompany me in leading The Pledge of Allegiance. I received notice of agreement!
Hope all are well and have a pleasant week ahead.
Always my Best Wishes,
Scott
ADDED:
Since the bad dream of an intruder, I have put away the 9mm.
I replaced it with one of my .357 mags.
Won't need 2 hands to rack a slide.
Just one hand needed to pull back the hammer....
SO many Changes ahead.....
Thank God that I'm a young old man.....
Regardless of what the VA said upon my last visit.
"You don't have long. Go home and wait to die."
Say WHAT?
If you have ever been to the VA for medical assistance,
you know that better health care is available waiting for you in line at your local Health Department behind the illegals....
Such a statement pisses me off.
I foresee a new revolution on the horizon.....
And, when the call to arms reaches me, know that I still pledge my life for Liberty and Freedom!
Although many are called, only Patriots will answer!
