CRISPINS CRITTERS

RC,

Friend, it sounds like you are in the midst of another cold night like I had in February in Germany in the 70's.

Buck up my Brother, because the warmth of your Spring is just around the corner and I know that you are well prepared....
Soon, you will be singing of the glory of Spring!
The emergence of plants from the frozen ground, screaming to you, "Is it not Spring Yet?"

Watch for the jonquils for they are the ones to rise and bloom early.....

Not to be confused with a daffodil.
Yeah, I know botanics and plant things on an advanced level.....
What can I say?
I'm a book worm nerd!

I love Nature, but can kill when threatened. I love all life, yet do not push my passion....

If anyone does,
You will lose.

Shall we discuss herpetology?
Perhaps entomology? Geology? Meteorology?
Archaeology? Anthropology?
What's your pleasure?

I know a little bit of everything, but I don't know everything about anything.....

Dig?

Scott

And now, Y'all enjoy some blues you ain't never heard before..,...

Damn!
Gimme my guitar and lead me to the stage!

10 degrees currently. Headed down lower tonight.
It's not bad though.
Clean air. No bugs.
Firearms not in a pocket or under the coat get condensation in their vitals even when brought in from the cold.
Got to mind not having oil to gum firing pins ect...
Precision can get compromised for dependable function sometimes , depending on choices.

Spring will be appreciated. Summer will be tempered with the caution of not complaining about too much heat. Fall will go by too quickly and then we're back to winter again on natures time. She and old woman time win out in the end. We just struggle along while/with the sand in whatever measure it trickles. Cold sand , hot sand , temperate sand , it don't matter much to the sand.

I believe it was 82 degrees today. Yes there’s a reason I live in Florida....

We didn’t win the Science Fair......

Tomorrow starts my family’s return to BASEBALL Woohoo!!!

Snow was falling heavily the day I decided to visit a car dealership. I was confident I'd get a great deal, figuring the salesmen would be desperate for customers on such a lousy day.

Sure enough, when I entered the showroom, I was the only client.

My hopes for getting a good deal quickly faded, however, when I heard the approaching salesman's very first words:

"Boy," he said, jovially, "you must really want a new car badly to come out on a day like this!"

Yeah but I can dream..... I might go look at her this week!

I swear when I watched the Rodney Dangerfield video above, I laughed so hard my ribs hurt. Loved that guy. Back in the day, I could watch a comedians routine and dang near re-do it verbatim. Not anymore. I loved Dangerfield, Robin Williams and Richard Pryor stuff. When I was teaching in college, I would do the Bob Nelson NFL act at the first of the semester to set the tone.......one time I did it and a lady was laughing so hard she asked me to stop before she peed on herself. Let me see if I can find it. I can’t remember those anymore. Of all the things I’ve lost, I miss my mind the most!

Grandson has caught 3 largemouth Bass so far today![emoji41]🏴*☠️[emoji41]

UPDATE— He caught 7 Largemouth Bass and 3 slipped off the hook. Great day

Monday.

What can I say about Monday?
Seems like it was Friday just a couple of days ago.....:icon_scratch:

Got the parts in for my Raymond pallet jack handle today and had it all put back together in about 2 hours.
Next I had to replace the potentiometer and all of the handle pod components on a Crown 4500 jack.

A few other minor repairs rounded out the day.

Then, when I got home, I checked the mail.

All right!
I got the currency notes that I've been waiting on for my collection!

Now all I have to do is catalog them (slowly-so as to savor the acquisition) and place them in my notebook.

Speaking of mail, I received a response from Good News At Noon, to wit:

Thank you so much, Scott, for wanting to get veterans involved in serving here at Good News at Noon.
We hope to hear from you and Danielle soon about anyone who is interested in doing so!

Blessings,
Beth

I'm surely going to request speaking to the Vets at the next Court session, in open court, about Volunteering at the site,
provided Judge Roberts allows me.
I'll go early to meet with him before the session and ask that the Vets that I mentor and I lead in the Pledge of Allegiance, and ask if I might also talk of the volunteer opportunities.
I am sure to be approved! :icon_salut:

Hope everyone's Monday was as pleasant as mine was!

Best,

Scott

Of course, I have to share a poignant musical selection....

"This number one hit reached the charts in 1966.
I remember where I was. Do you?"

Do you love America?
Do you love Freedom?
Think of other countries in the world today....
Countries with unstable governments.
Countries that oppress the people and the right to even basic life.
Countries that are hell holes where what you say and think could bring about your DEATH!

America is where I was born.
America is the Country that I'll die to protect.
America is where my Friends and Family live.
Without fear of death.
Without fear of torture.
Without fear of Government.

For, the Government is for the people, as specified in the Constitution.
If the people fear the Government, there are remedies.
The Second Amendment.
Enough said.

A "political" post?
No.
A "Veteran-Patriot's" post.
Right, Crispin?

Scott

Seems that I knew a "Crispin" during my service.
And, since I cannot talk about my service in detail....
He was a force that rallied others to a particular goal.
He went by another name.
I am forbidden to name him....
However, I surmised that he was a "ghost."
Those who served in my capacity know of this term.....
