CRISPINS CRITTERS

Speaking of cooking out,
I picked this up today at the store after I finished cutting the grass.

IMG_2266.JPG

Yep. Time to fire up the grill for the first time this year.
Slow cooked, almost smoked.
With a chili lime drizzle and a light sprinkle of habanero dust....

Now then, what shall be good with this?

Green beans or brussels sprouts?

Best,

Scott

Ah, baby sweet peas it is, then!
('Tis a benefit of being single. I can change my mind whenever I want without repercussions! LOL!)

Chores are done, the smoke of hickory chips from the grill lazily fill my senses, I am Still a Citizen of the greatest Country and life is good!
Join me in enjoying life!

I sold my 88 Blazer this weekend for exactly what I paid.

I got to drive it until I found what I was looking for and didn't lose a nickel...

I found what I was looking for...

I then notice on one of the Facebook groups that I follow, a fellow is selling these...

Think I'll inquire....

"Tick tock, tick tock. Time is precious. There are no 'Time outs,' nor 'Do overs.'
Every minute wasted is a minute wasted. Never to be retrieved again.
Perhaps one will learn just how precious time is before it is too late."

"My, wasn't that previous observation, ummm....special? Leading in, of course to that fine young group, all the way from England.
Let's have a round of applause for, The Rolling Stones!"

One time when I young, I got lost and couldn't find my parents.
A cop came to help.
I asked, "Can you help me find my parents?"
He said, "I don't know, kid. There's a lot of places they can hide."

I'll tell ya, it's hard being me....
Growing up in a middle class family was hard, I tell ya.
My parents moved 4 times but I found them every time.

Once my father and I went to a carnival. I said, "Let's go to the freak house." He said, "Let's save the money and wait until we get home."

I get no respect, even today.

I went to my dentist. I told him that I needed a tooth replaced to match my others. He put in one with 4 cavities.

Nothing comes easy for me, I tell ya.

Last week, I saw my shrink and told him that I had suicidal thoughts. He told me to pay in advance.

Not long ago, I met a gal in the club. Said her name was Vera Dunigan, but I could just call her "VD."

Thanks Rodney for the laughs....

He was always working on his routine, many times writing ideas on any scrap of paper that was handy.

Still funny after all these years....
(His birthday was the same day JFK was assassinated in 1963....)

"Time"

Time is the standard of life for you and I
Is there time to question why?

Time will pass silently day by day
with each new morning's sun's ray.

Time is a companion as you journey upon your way.
A companion you must live with every day.

Time is but a measure of one's existence of life here
For Death is always near.

Time can erode mountains and kingdoms will fall.
Time brings death to all it will call.

Time, that precious air of breath one takes so lightly now
Will one day escape their grasp somehow.

Time is a companion as you journey upon your way.
A companion you must live with every day.

Time is but a measure of your existence of life here
For Death is always near.

Time, that what one would have said
What one should have said.....

Time.
It will only be missed when it is gone.

As promised, a pic of my work shirts with my name.

IMG_2267.JPG

Shannon is on Vacation this week and he asked me to come in early a couple of hours every day to make sure that everything runs smoothly.
I said, "Of course, Boss."

"Now then, dammit, let's not have any issues, shall we?"

And, as I finish washing dishes from my grilling, I have this playing...

Love the "voice" of those Ovation guitars!
Sweet 12 string at 42:50....
I will pay good money for the right Ovation, so, Friends, keep your eyes and ears open!

Soon, I shall retire for the evening, having to report to work earlier than usual tomorrow...

Hope all have a Great Week!

Hmmm...

Just got a message from a fellow on the website that I swap coins worldwide.
He's listed as being in the US.

Seems that he is a "Player" and wants some of my high dollar coins including a 1972 DDO Lincoln Cent worth $300.
http://www.lincolncentresource.com/doubledies/1972ddo.html

He has several high dollar coins that I am interested in.

But, ole Scotty is cautious critter.... Just 'cause he SAYS he has the coins that I want don't make it so...Dig?
Remember, he is knocking on MY door....

More later...

A Thoreau quote...Ya ,he was odd too.

[“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms, and, if it proved to be mean, why then to get the whole and genuine meanness of it, and publish its meanness to the world; or if it were sublime, to know it by experience, and be able to give a true account of it in my next excursion.”]

Thoreau said all that needs to be said.

Thanks, RC for reminding me of what I already know.
Ah, to visit Walden Pond, even metaphorically, for just a moment in my life....
Perhaps I already have and realize it not....

Be Well, my Friend.

Haha Uncle Bill but that isn’t celebrating surviving the Oppression of the Brits ......... or is it? Haha

Scott,

Let's hope it's something minor. Better to get it checked rather than it playing with your head.

Regards + HH

Bill

Lately I have been having health issues.

My feet and ankles are swollen and also my left hand.
The pain frequently makes going to work somedays very hard.
But, I perform my job and no one knows....
I am not a complainer.

I had an appointment scheduled at the VA a week or so ago but didn't go.
Perhaps I'm afraid of what they might say....

I got a letter from the VA yesterday to wit:

View attachment 1609681

I guess I'll have to put on my "Big Boy Pants" and reschedule and GO.

I hope that they just say that I'm eating too much salt in my diet.....

Best Wishes to All,

Scott

2GF,

Canada has been pretty much doing it's own thing since 1867 and our ties to the UK is through the Commonwealth kind of like being part of the UN, Nato or some such.

Uncle Bill. I had a friend in the Canadian Army. He came down here a couple times. One time he came here after one of my deployments. My team and I had provided our services to the Canadians in Afghanistan. Anyway he presented me with a Large Canadian flag. Which is one of my most prized possessions!!!! I’m very proud of it and proud to say I served alongside Australian, British and Canadian Forces!!!
