Scott,
We have a can of green peanuts in the pantry supplied by my wife's cousin....would imagine not as good as the fresh ones though...any recipe as to how to prepare or do you just heat them up and eat as is?

Regards + HH

Bill

Oh, and I also have boiled peanuts cooking on the stove for a snack.

I "juiced up" the goods with some of Bill's habenero and soon it will be ready ....

HUH?
Boiled peanuts?

Just a "Southern" thang....

What the Yankees don't know.....

Best,

Scott

DRAM yesterday I took the boys to get s haircut. When I got in the truck to leave, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor...... I drove home about 5 miles, no brakes!!!!!!! At 0330, I was changing my left front brake line!!!!!!! It's good to go! I have the other side to change too, but I'm going to an Orlando Magic basketball game tonight!!!!!

2GF,

Glad everyone made it home unscathed....must be kind of scary driving with no brakes.

Haha OV you saw me!!!!! Haha yeah was kind of scary. I was worried about everybody else. I geared down, used the transmission to slow me down.

I was thinking....... I wonder if someone cut my brake line...... those lines don't give that easily......

Scott.... what's the privates' 11th general order? " Sir the privates 11th general order is to walk my post from flank to flank...... and take no sh*t from any rank...... sir" hehe

Any pics? Was it the rubber part or the steel part that gave out?

Sent from a spun out toilet paper tube (one ply)!!!

Just finished installing stone on the wall above where a jacuzzi tub is going to sit in one of my bathrooms. It's one of the last rooms to complete in my house. I'm getting there!! Haha

diesel,

That's quite the snazy wall you've installed when the time comes maybe you can flip the house over to some rich retirees and head off to Florida to enjoy the surf and sun.

Bill

I'm hoping so Bill, the surf and sun definitely beats the snow and cold! Haha, thanks Bill!

Bill,

I put them in a saucepan along with the brine.

I juice them up with the hot stuff and let them simmer for a bit.
Don't let them boil and stir occasionally.

If anyone would like to try them, let me know.

I can get them for $1 a can.

Best,

Scott

I was thinking....... I wonder if someone cut my brake line...... those lines don't give that easily......

Was does inspection of the failed line reveal?
Here in the rust belt ,rot often shows with a pinhole leak , followed by a big leak.
My last thrilling failure was rubber line at wheel cylinder too hot from a binding brake on one wheel.

Was your wife "too nice" when you next saw her? Any roller skates or skateboards on the steps , floor jack balanced on top of the doors edge ,or " odd" tasting food? :laughing7:

One rainy night when I was posted, must have been about 0300,
I noticed a figure approach my post.
I immediately challenged with, "HALT!"
The figure stopped.
I then said,"State your name and business."
Silence.
I repeated my command.
Again, silence.

This was while we were on high alert due to a recent raid on a local
Polizei Precinct in which automatic weapons were stolen by The Red Army Faction.
Special orders were given during Guard Mount....

I then commanded to the unknown figure, "Take off your hat and face the light!"
No compliance.

I pulled back the charging handle on the first 30 round magazine of my M-16,
flipped the selector to "rock and roll" and shouted,
"On the ground. Now! Face Down or you die!"
Compliance.

I then cranked the handle of my field phone to call the ready building to report to the SAT/BAF team.

Within 3 minutes, my post was swarming with assistance.

When I was relieved of post, I was requested to attend a "Special" dismount meeting.
I found out that it was a Full Bird Colonel, from Battalion HQ, who thought that he'd take it upon himself to check on the Battery's security.
He was covered in mud and was as mad as a wet hen.
Locked and loaded on a Colonel?
Wanted to court martial me, he did!

My Captain saved me by saying to the Colonel,
"You are lucky you are not dead! Don't EVER come to my site and pull that sh*t again!"

So, yeah,
I once locked and loaded on a Full Bird!
Made him lay in mud...Me and my Cap, we were tight...Dig?

Best,

Scott

And, I was only 18 at the time. Less than a year out of High School....

What were you doing when you were 18?

Went to the Job Fair yesterday.

Not much that interested me....

ACE Hardware was looking for warehouse workers.
Talked briefly with them and mentioned my forklift experience.
They were eager for me to fill out an application thrust at me.

Goodwill Industries were also interested in my stopping by...
Especially after I mentioned my volunteering...

The Georgia Dept. of Labor had a booth and I spent the most time there talking with a couple of guys.

One was a fellow who "shopped" resumes to employers and the other guy was the new Veterans Rep.

I haven't visited the GDOL since my Friend, James Gilmer was the Veteran Rep.
Some 8-10 years ago.
RIP my Brother! Your Mission is complete!
We thank you for your Service and Specifically for your Friendship and assistance....

And, then,

I mentioned my recent academics and was encouraged to come in for further discussion.

I "briefly" mentioned my last assignment with the VA.....I'm sure that he didn't fully understand....
Or even listen....
There is a difference between "Hearing," and "Listening."
Think about it....

I stated my goal of working for the VA to help Vets in conjunction with my academic pursuits.
I also mentioned my meetings with Congressman Collins and recent communication with President Trump.....

It was the only resume that I submitted.
(Corrected, of course with current contact info)

Think I'll visit GDOL on Monday!

Best,

Scott

PS.

I have a disc of my old resume.
I've always been able to access it to update....
Usually in Microsoft "Office."
"Word-Pad," I think....:dontknow:
I'm pretty much "computer stupid...."

Perhaps I rely too much on my Landlord for help?

But,

My recent post about "Fark" reflects my lack of current computer knowledge of apps and such.
Certainly, my resume will be updated and disseminated and offered with my next visit to GDOL!

GDOL=Georgia Department of Labor.

Like I said, I'm old enough to be picky about where I work next....Ain't no restaurants in my future....
Unless I'm a guest. Then, my Friends,
I'll eat till I Bust!

"Long Tall Glasses"

I was travellin' down the road
Feelin' hungry and cold
I saw a sign sayin'
Food and drinks for everyone
So naturally I thought
I would take me a look inside
I saw so much food
There was water coming from my eyes

Yeah, there was ham and there was turkey
There was caviar
And long tall glasses
With wine up to y'are
And somebody grabbed me
Threw me out of my chair
Said "before you can eat
You gotta dance like fred astaire"
You know I can't dance
you know I can't dance
You know I can't dance
you know I can't dance
I can't dance

I am a man of the road
A hobo by name
I don't seek entertainment
Just poultry and game
But if it's all the same to you
Then yes, I will try my hand
If you were hungry as me
Then I'm sure you will understand

Hmmmmmm, now wait a minute
Of course I can dance
Of course I can dance
I'm sure I can dance
I'm sure I can dance
I can dance
I can dance
I really hit the floor
Ah, it feels good
Look at me dancing

I did a two-step, quick-step and a bossanova
A little victor sylvester and a rudy valentino
You should have seen me moving
Right across the floor
Hand me down my tuxedo
Next week I'm coming back for more

I can dance
Oh yes, I can dance
Look at me dance on the floor movin'
I feel good
I can dance
I can dance
I can dance
I can dance
I can dance
I can dance

A mere 18 years old? Scotty?

All about your "upbringing?"
Yes!

Scott

18yo.gif

Before any Medals were earned....
A "Slick Sleeve" and just another "newbie."
I am not allowed to say more.....
Except that I spoke German and other languages.....
And was called upon to help others pass "the test" as a peer instructor....
Any test of physical or mental fitness, strengths or ability? ...

Yeah.

I'm still game.
Even today.
Bring it....

Ich spreche deine Sprache, grabe?
My duty station was thus determined.....

Yeah,
I come from the land down under....

Or maybe from a mountaintop.....
You will never know.....

Vita brevis est. Tu animam tuam pro patriae inferetis?

I love shooting, but hate policing brass....
