CRH for February 2009

Yea this is my oldest find yet. Here is my oldest CRH finds:

1899 Indian Head
1917 Buffalo
1907 Barber dime
1918 Walking Liberty

And you were just telling me the other day just how much you wanted to find an IH! Tell me now you want to find a gold $20 coin while CRHing...lol. Congrats!

Joe

I had planned on picking up my 4 half boxes today but I didn't wake up on time to run to that bank so instaed I went to my trusty "hub" bank. I just got 2 CWI boxes of dimes to do at the night job. Well the first box only had 3 silver in it, then I started the second box - it had 33 silver Rosie's in it!!!!

This is my biggest amount in 1 box ever, my previous was 22 back on 1/9/09 (the day I found my Barber dime). I am absolutely floored right now!!!! My goal was to get at least 50 silver Rosie's a month, so now I am a head of the game!!! :icon_pirat:

My "hub" bank is closed on Sundays so come Monday I will be back and buy as many boxes as I can to try to find the rest of this collection/hoard!!! :icon_pirat:

Ok enough talk, here is the pix:

That's hilarious man... are we just lucky or do most CRH'ers experience boxes like these? I wish my bank was open today... I have some halves boxes waiting for me.

Man we are actuiall on the slow side as far as CRH'ng is concerned... Some people that do half the hunting we do already have over 500 40%!!!! I would kill to have that kinda luck!!! :icon_pirat:

Right...but how many of those people have lives?? You gotta ask yourself what is really important in life: Spending every waking hour sifting through thousands of coins, driving to banks, etc, for the most silver coins, or doing this the way you guys do, for the fun and the thrill of discovery? Kermit, as you once so eloquently put it..."To each his own pace".

In my mind, you guys are doing exceptionally well. Keep up the great work, and keep posting your results.

Joe

Great point Joe!!!

Here are my finds for today. Not the best and not the worst. :icon_pirat:

Congrats Kermit! I guess your skunk run is over ay? Not a bad way to bring back the silver either. I gotta get me one of those Walkers! MUST HAVE!!!

That '67 half is the most worn modern half I've ever seen! Maybe it was someone's lucky-rubbing coin or something.

Joe

Here is my worst half that I found to date, it was so bad that I had to keep it!!! LOL
:tongue3:

Just 1 40% today, I bought $1,000 (4 boxes of dimes) from the teller that sold me the box with the 33 silver dimes in it. Anybody ever find one of these? I knew it was going to be a forign coin because there was a dirty ring around the roll as the coin is just a tat bit larger than a US half. Would this be concidered "the peoples half"... ;D
Anyone know what the coin is called so I can list it in GMan's thread?
Cool find though, I will keep it. :tongue3:

Really neat Ruski coin you got there Fiend.

Did 2 boxes last night.... first box was a stinky skunk... second was magical gumdrop land :icon_jokercolor:

Totals:

1 - 1952-d Frankie... my oldest half CRH'ing, so far.
3 - 1964 (90%)

24 - 40%

I stayed up way too late because I was going to bed when I just decided to PEEK at the second box. Right on top was a silver showing... flip that roll over and silver was on the bottom. DING! I'm reeled in. Then I started flipping all of the rolls and found the Frankie on the bottom end of one of them. I had to open the whole box then.

Awesome box bud!!!!!

Nice scores! I bust my ass chiseling through frozen ground at 3 different old spots today and couldn't even pull a wheatie. Spent most of the day wandering around and cursing. Somehow unwrapping a little paper and scoring big silver is sounding more and more appealing to me. :tongue3:
WTG Brett

If Twisted suggested jumping off a bridge, without a bungie cord or parachute, would you? :tard: :tongue3:

Just trying to keep everyone happy in the COIN ROLL HUNTING WORLD. :tard: :tongue3:

I'm happy... bagging a box full of silver the other day. I'm picking up 4 boxes of stuff tomorrow too, although I won't be able to open them until Sunday or Monday.
