If you are planning on hunting the beach during the beginning of October '09 over in Clearwater, here is an activity to keep in mind.
It will be very noisy during the race, and crowded... But post race should provide some good hunting!

Offshore powerboats will be stirring the surf off Clearwater Beach, but they can be seen up close at Coachman Park.
Get ready for the roar of big engines along Clearwater Beach. Super Boat International, the longest running offshore powerboat racing group in the United States, will host its national championship Oct. 2-4. More than 40 boats are expected, including the turbine-powered Miss Geico piloted by St. Petersburg’s Mark Granet, for the weekend’s festivities. Race fans will get a chance to see the boats and mingle with the crews at the race village in Coachman Park.
