Christmas eve...VERY cold...VERY wet...LAST hunt of '09...1833 CAPPED BUST DIME

I have been extremely busy and the holidays were hectic. I hope you all had a great Christmas/New years week...and 2010 is a good one for us all.

I really put the Sunray X-12 coil through the paces the last week of December...and as was the case with the X-5 coil post a few days ago...I can't say a whole lot at this time.

[bg=http://forum.treasurenet.com/images/coinsc.jpg]Please watch for my field test report in an upcoming issue of Western & Eastern Treasures Magazine for all the details of the X-12 coil test.[/bg]

I just wanted to show the find that made hunting on Christmas eve in heavy rain and 33 degree temps...very much worthwhile. :headbang:

I have only found 3 bust dimes in my 35 years of hunting...and 2 of them have come from this particular site.

I think the coin looked nicer UNTIL I TOOK A FRIEND'S ADVICE 8) and soaked it in soapy water.

Looks like it had a little detail until I did so. :o I should have just rinsed it in warm water...but oh well. ::) Thanks a bunch friend. No more advice from you. ;D :laughing9:

Thanks old friend. I meant every word I typed :icon_thumleft: As for the signal...I'm not supposed to give any details of the hunts during the test. I will say though that I'm very impressed with the X-12 coil. It's one coil I hadn't used before...and I wish I had used it sooner.
I'll keep you and your health in my thoughts and prayers my friend. I widh you the best...and let me know if you ever need anything.

Re: Christmas eve...VERY cold...VERY wet...LAST hunt of '09...1833 CAPPED BUST DIME

My parents used to let me open one gift on christmas eve, nowadays I would have definetely loved to open the ground and find an awesome silver coin like that! Great job.

Re: Christmas eve...VERY cold...VERY wet...LAST hunt of '09...1833 CAPPED BUST DIME

Nice job on the capped bust Bryce! I'm lookin at frozen ground and about 8 inches of snow here in eastern Ohio, I'm bored bro :-))

Re: Christmas eve...VERY cold...VERY wet...LAST hunt of '09...1833 CAPPED BUST DIME

Nice Digs Bryce!

You da man! I'd tell you I'm surprised you found one, but that wouldn't be true. If I was to bet that anyone had the skill, the ear, and the energy to dig one I'd bet on you any day!

Would be amazed to find one up here! Earliest settlement around here was in 1858, without many around until the late 1870s.

Did want to mention that nearly as impressive as the coin is that Both Captain SE and Ohio Jerry both wrote responses! Now, that is saying something!

Best of Luck for 2010! Hope it warms up early this year!

Mark
