WHADIFIND, I know you were glad to green check this one. Congratulations Deb! Most of those nibs on quill pens are only 1/4 inch wide; some are larger, but the majority are quarter inch, so hopefully it would fit the hole. Maybe you can detect the area again to see if you can find the base and/or nib. :) Breezie

Yes there was a craze about oriental and oriental-looking decorative items, someone will be able to find out more about that.

Well this was a nice teamwrok solution I think. if it is correct, hahaha :-)

Man, go out there and find the rest of that inkwell, that would be the only proof and it'd make a banner-find in my book! HH
