I am still in shock. Never would I believe something like this would happen to me. Did a late evening hunt with a friend from Tnet which only lasted about 45 min. As you can see I only found a mini ball and flat button until I came upon this cache. We both were speechless, good thing she decided to video tonights dig. This is the second cache of coins found on this property mixed in with all the civil war relics. First spill was nothing like this, maybe 10 coins. So walking along the woods edge of a corn field I got this ear blowing signal, pinpointed about 3 ft long but narrow I almost skipped it. At a park with the signal that large I surely would have ignored it. Ended up with a cut finger and 64 silver coins. 1 Morgan dollar, 8 Reale, 12 Halfs, 11 Quarters and 39 dimes. I havnt checked for any key dates and most look to be in good shape. I'm amazed over this 8 Reale, looks to be 1830 Zs. Checked off the bucket list:headbang: Like I said Ive heard stories of people finding caches but never dreamed my coil would get over one. Thanks for looking GL&HH

Very cool find man, kudos to you for digging the signal which might very have been a beer can! :occasion14:

Congrats on achieving your first BANNER too,
Dave

Thank you ANTIQUARIAN. Depending on the site, you use different strategies. Colonial and Civil War sites I tend to dig any repeatable signal other than iron. Parks or trashy permissions I probably would have skipped this target due to the size. Sounded like a beer can or small tent stake.

I dig all repeatable signals as well, anything that hit's within 46 - 93 range. I used to use the Garrett Ace 350 then the AT Pro for four years, I've been using the XP Deus for a year and a half now. Garrett's machines were both great, but for target isolation, depth and sensitivity the Deus is one of the best machines I've ever used!

I now mainly detect long gone homesteads in farm fields, so having a machine that can be adjusted in both htz and the discrimination is a bonus.

Best of luck to you,
Dave

That's funny. I too started with the Ace 350 then the AT Pro for the past years. I'm actually getting ready to buy the XP Deus just for that reason you mentioned. My buddy has the Deus and that machine gets deeper and discrims through iron a lot better than mine. Great minds think alike :occasion14:

Thats awesome. I found three BIG silver spills so far myself and hope for a fourth someday. Not only is the never ending dig out of them sweet but getting back home and checking every coin out one by one is amazing. Then after all that its even fun organizing them and laying them all out for the big photo like you did. Congrats and great job! [emoji2][emoji106]

Thank you K1DDO1979. Like you said its fun going through them all. Its been weeks and I still enjoy dumping them out and looking at the details. We got lucky, I doubt ill ever find something like this again. Congrats on your discoveries.

Never say never. Thats the best part of detecting. Its not knowing what is coming out next! [emoji106]

Thanks again. That's the name of the game. Ive got my silver fix now I need to find some yellow stuff. LOL

3' long target, narrow, assuming crazy high tone. Man I have those all the time in the woods where I hunt. I never dig them, when I do they are typically brass pipes (lots of old oil field 3" pipes abandoned in the woods). I'm guessing that the signals where not beer can strong, like you can swing 18-24" above the dirt and still get a great signal. It's all about intuition and a large dose of luck, some research and talent. Congrats, congrats, congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!
