Mods, can we please delete the pinned posts at the top of the page that have been sitting for years? Maybe except for the upcoming cookout? Call me a whiner, but I'd like to not have to scroll down every time I log in to this forum to see the newest posts. Much obliged, if everyone's cool with it.
Do you mean the 5 posts in blue on top of this forum?

Are you talking about the Shipwreck forum?

"Are you talking about the Shipwreck forum?"

Yes.

I think if threads were unpinned, they can go back to where they belong (most forums work that way).

With all due respect to Phips and John, their pinned posts haven't been replied to for years. I don't see why they're still there.

I see three.
Scrolling past them is ridiculously simple.

How about we delete shipwrecks forum entirely?
It distracts from other topics.

Why were they pinned it the first place?
Interesting information.
An introduction to the topic.

Just because nobody has replied/commented on the pinned posts doesn't mean they were not read.
I have read a few pinned over the years, and found them informative.

There's probably more lurkers than members reading the pinned posts.
Just to gleam information.

Also when a post is locked nobody can reply to it.
It turns into a read only thread.
