What is that? Forest management? Unthinkable here in California.

I can certainly relate to that with the terrible forest fires California has and is having. Here in BC once a logging block is
cut the unusable timber is stacked up and a year later in the winter these slash piles are set on fire and burned. This practice
has been going on for years and pardon the pun "touch wood" no forest fires have started....In late spring and summer tree planters start
planting trees..
