That appears to be a strong contender most likely the vessel in question. The Severn was wrecked in channel islands in 1804.

That said there was several HMS Severn the fate of which was uncertain.

Interesting. I found one similar to this too, as well as copper alloy sheathing tacks. I believe they come from a British merchant ship that went down in 1827. Could it have begun its life as a naval ship?
