Got out to two parks yesterday and today. While swinging next to an older tree, I spied this 2,000 year old beauty lying on the surface... Here's an in situ... basketweave9.JPG

Some pix back at the laboratory... Man I love the gray chert with red inclusions! Wonder what critter this was thrown at?

Also dug a pretty bling pendant, another fancy dog name tag, a small bling earring too...

The silver score of the excursions was this little whopper. A "tribal?" motif sterling mans ring, marked, "WM/ Ster/ copyright" inside. Rang up a solid 85 at two inches on the ATPro. It weighs in at 7.5 grams. This one is ring #22 for the year so far.

Thanks for looking. I hope that the weather is nice in your neck of the woods and you can get out and dig this weekend! Sub (Lance) 8-)

PADD, I found the point in Barry County, MO, close to NE Oklahoma, so probably the same geology there. Home of the Osage tribe and the mammoth hunters before them. This multi-colored chert is everywhere here, mostly wreaking havoc on my digging tools. Sub 8-)

If you get some nice big and smooth chunks that seem pretty clean and not cracked up, i can make you a nice perfect point from the material if you would want, then that would give me some new specimens for myself too. Either way, keep doing what you're doing!!! :icon_thumleft::thumbsup:
