Sundays are usually dead when it comes to sales. There was a community sale advertized for Sat and Sun. I was not able go on Sat due to other sales, but I was able to go on Sun. I scored these two duck decoys, redline hot wheels, and a little bit of gold. Can someone that collects decoys help identify these two? There are no makers marks or dates. Thank you. I truly appreviate it.

Hi artslinger, I took a photo of your decoy with my phone and found one for sale on Ebay. It says Vintage 1983 Sandy Wood Hand Carved Painted black Gray Duck Style folk Art listed for $70.00.

They appear to be wood duck decoys, although not the actual working kind. These aren’t built to float. Definitely collector items.
I have mixed feelings concerning how the head is styled on one of them. I’m sure they will interest collectors if you resell them.

Depicts either a Merganser or a Wood Duck.
Not a decoy that was used for hunting.
If unsigned the value is what someone is willing to pay.
Signed decoys are based a lot in local artist styles and collectible value.

Cool finds and they would make great display pieces. Can't help on the decoys, but the gold item looks to be a Masonic Grand Lodge 'orator' jewel. Can't read the inscription in your picture... it's too blurry.

Thank you everyone. It is truly appreciated. Community garage sales are in full swing. Wishing everyone incredible scores! All the best to all.

The gold item is upside down. It’s from a school of nursing in Pittsburgh PA.

Dang you got gold. I sold off some of the gold I've scored just last Thursday. I need the cash for Christmas shopping and getting the cash will allow me to shop for my honey without using the bank card that she manages and if used will know where I'm shopping. She accuses me of having a secret life with my out of sight out and out of mind treasure stash. One of the things I sold was this little fraternal pin I picked up cheap that was identified on TN. I didn't take note of what I got for it, because I gathered up a few mostly 10k gold pieces to cash in along with it. I surly got more than I paid at today's prices.

The local online auction site has downsize/estates that have gold.

They sometimes include weight and what KT. the item is.
Doing the math many items go above spot value.

Many forget the buyers premium & tax. Add those in and it's 31% on top.

The kicker is they add the Buyer's Premium then the 13% tax on top of that.
Then again we get charged a carbon tax, then the HST tax goes on top of that tax.
So all the power for cash sales, at the garage sales.

Hi artslinger keep your eyes open for old Fishing Lures lol. I collect vintage lures and would be happy to tell you all about them if you come across any good luck. Send me a PM if you need me to ID any of them or talk about what you find.
