i know this is going to make me sound like a dummy, but here it goes anyways; in the 1970s and early 80s there was a beer that came in a short, fat, brown bottle that had a big opening (mouth) to drink from, what beer was this ?. i remember my dad and uncle drinking this beer and for some odd reason it popped into my thoughts at work and its driving me nuts not knowing, please help, allen....if this is an inappropriate subject or question please delete it and accept my appology, allen

Its sounds as if you are talking about "Mickeys" beer. They were made in short bottles, shaped something like a barrel but were green in color. In fact, they still make the same beer and beer bottle today. Hope this may help a bit. Are you sure the bottle was not green? ???
