I got permission to a 1920's farm house a few days ago. The owner said their nephew had detected it in the past I stopped by there today for a few hours. They were right, someone didn't leave me much. I dug about $1.00 in modern clad. The only keeps I dug were a 1944 P silver war nickel and a piece of antique bling.

Any ideas on the age or what this jewelry piece is???

I was able to get a picture of the Tenn Trio passing through my area too. :tongue3:

Thanks for looking,
MM

Good to see your still hunting Doug. I haven't been out since last fall, seems like I can never find the time. I sure miss the old days, hunting everyday almost, priorities change I guess. I'll try and get out soon for ya!
I count 4 birds in that group by the way.

Nice find. Love to treasure coming out of NC.

Great to hear from you Big Guy. I took some time off too when we moved to the mountains. I miss my old spots. Trying to get in the groove again over here.
I love the old houses, as they turn up such a variety of relics.

As far as the turkey count, you are correct. Quindy has become such a detecting icon he hired another turkey to carry his equipment and dig his plugs for him. :tongue3:
Hope to see you posting again soon,
Doug

You did OK MM. We had to leave Tennessee because it's Turkey Season here-LOL. HH, Q.

LMAO! The Trio is welcome in NC any time Q. :occasion14:
That Dman is one pretty bird. I noticed his feathers were finely groomed.

That's a really nice old piece, marking act was 1906... :icon_scratch: So I'm sure it predates that !!

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

MUD,
Thanks for that info. I learn something new here on Tnet every day.

A great piece of jewelry from a fascinating era in time.

I do believe you're right, MM. It's not that far from Tennessee...and I can see one of them has an orange hat on, so that confirms it. :laughing7:
Super find on the necklace! That's pretty jazzy~ ;)
Nana

Thanks Nana. As they passed through I heard Quindy bird tell Dman bird that he was going to knock the giblets out of him if he doesn't stop talking. :laughing7:

Jewelry is always a great find but Art Deco is just the icing on the cake. Great find.

Thanks Ray. This piece may have belonged to one of those vintage Vegas gals. :laughing7:

I do believe that middle one is DMan, MM. You can tell by the way his beard has been heavily waxed and sticks out! I believe Breezie should include pics in her ID's more often. I am liking it! Living in Amish country, I don't get to see legs very often, lol.
Very nice jewelry find and it looks like Breezie nailed it. I bet that made you catch your breath when you first saw it. A War nickel is still on my wanted list. Good luck on your next trip.

LMAO!!! I bet you find a lot of WHEAT pennies up there in Amish country though. I wonder if their legs are hairy? :tongue3:
I think Dman is more like a peacock then a wild turkey. He's one handsome bird.
Thanks for looking OD.

Really nice find. I like the filigree necklace. I may need a better picture of it to put in our new book, (Identifying Civilian Relics). We plan to put Quindy on the cover.

I about spit my coffee out on that one. LOL :laughing7:
I'll get you some better photos so this can be put in your book Dman. Do you need any ChuckE Cheese token shots?
I can't wait for my signed copy. See if you can borrow Quindy's quill pen for the signing. :tongue3:
Thanks for l@@king,
Little Dug

Thanks everyone. I dug the antique piece next to a large tree stump on the side of the house. Found a few mason jar lids too. There were 8 acres behind the house but the grass was over a foot high.
I didn't even know I had dug the war nickel until I got it home and cleaned it up.

Boots to wear in that tall grass. :laughing7:

Lol. That is my kind of find right there Chris. Those civil war sardine belt buckles are rare finds. Yours even has the turn key attached still. Awesome find. I vote BANNER!!!
