Wow, what a wonderful find! Large size Capped Bust quarters are seldom dug, and this one is outstanding with XF+ details and no major damage. Looks like you also did an excellent job recovering it. So many unexpected finds are either hit by the shovel, or else ruined when the excited digger wipes off the date with his thumb, leaving fine scratches all over the place. Looks like you kept the original surface intact. Great job!

Awesome find, thanks for sharing. Grats on the banner and way to go with the at pro.

She's a beauty!!

That's one helluva coin buddy!

looks like it was just minted yesterday. Wow its in great shape for being in the ground all most 200 years.

Very under stated!

Great Find ! Congratulations on the Banner find . The Capped Bust Quarter is a much tougher find than the half dollar for some reason ,
and these early larger sized ones are a really tough find !

That bust quarter is a thing of beauty! Congrats on the banner!

Congrats on a super nice 1828 Bust Quarter Dollar and for getting a Banner for the find! I just read through 6 pages of posts to make sure that I did not step on another poster's toes concerning the Variety. The coin appears to be a Browning 4 (B-4) Variety with the 1st Star on the Obverse closer to the denticles than it is to Miss Liberty's bust and also the "F" in "OF" on the Reverse being lower than the "O". Therefore, when you send the coin in for grading and certification, make sure to pay for the attribution of the variety to be noted on the holder label. It is hard to determine the value of an 1828 Bust Quarter Dollar B-4 Variety as none have sold on eBay and there is very little info on circulated examples in VF-20/25 condition which your' coin appears to be. If the coin is in fact a Browning 4 Variety, it is a Scarce Variety for the Date and should fetch a fairly decent price.

Good luck!

Wow gratz. I would keep it, it will only increase in value over time.
