Only I'm not heartbroken, I am pretty thrilled with it. Buckshot and I were kayaking a new creek, heading back after being skunked when I paddled by this. The wind was blowing pretty hard and I had to back up three times, to get the insitu. You can see it's almost in the water, and inches from slipping down into thick soft mud. It's Kay county chert. I included a picture of it's almost twin because they are so similar, this one has even deeper notches. sunburned, tired and happy!

Terry- my source for the Andice ID- Neanderthal!-. He explained the differences between the two types in this thread,

http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,227571.0.html

(I know like a bad penny, but it's informative on the these two types, and terry is new)

Thanks Matt, I was a little excited and called it before I settled down to study it. The picture of the two is cool huh? ;D

I have the four books by Perino and Bell, and they are spot on most times, if the point is typical. If there is something slightly abberant, then I'm lost.

Peachy- excellent question! I'm glad you asked that :laughing7:

The quote from Dr. Gomer to restore this one is 75 bucks. That was the highest figure I told myself to even think about. The banding is the reason for a higher quote. Haven't decided to do it yet, but I really want to see these two whole, and sitting side by side.

thanks for the replys guys

Thanks sid, I don't really care that it's broke, it has a place of honor just as it is.
