Nice finds Cru.

What is the definition of a scrappie, a coin that can't be id?

Congratulations, Crusader! More nice finds for you all. Thanks for sharing.

I've always understood it to be a term for the poor quality Roman coins that are so "common" that they don't elicit much of a celebratory response from the finder. Many of those would be unidentifiable, but not all.

Hopefully Crusader will correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeap, pretty much but every 'scrappy' is GPSed, plotted on a map, put into a private database that includes its weight, 3 measurements (thickness, shortest dia. & longest diameter), condition, visible features & letters.
